It a 3D printing company that would like to be in contact with an e-NABLE volunteer so they could find children whom they can sponsor a 3D printed prosthetic limb.

Just to share some experience with you guys if anyone is planning to use inductive or capacitive sensors for auto bed leveling.

I found this the hard way, make sure the bed is completely flat and isn't warped or bend in anyway if you want the auto bed leveling feature to work. My Printrbot 3 mm thick aluminum bed seem to have warped quite badly from the abuse of prying out overzealous stuck prints from the bed. Initially a few months back, I notice my first layer print has a slight height gradient from one end to the other but wasn't severe enough until after a long while it got worst till I can get good initial layer prints on one quarter of the bed size. Since the bed sinks in slightly in the middle, the 3 point auto bed feature interpreted the height incorrectly and create the height gradient for all my past prints.

So just my advice of proximity sensors with 3 points of reference, make sure to get a thick solid bed that won't warp or isn't warp in the first place. I just replace my bed with the 6 mm heated bed and all those problem were resolved.

Now I need to get a good power supply for the heated bed and setup the solid state relay electronics and I will be printing in ABS rclxm9.gif

Anyway here are some pics...

Hey there everyone,

I'm new to this game. I'm trying to build a i3 Prusa too. But I want to enjoy the build to I want to assemble everything and buy the components on their own. In a way it's way cheaper than buying the kit.
I found the steppers and filament locally: http://www.yumeprinter.com/product-category/accessories/
This stepper motor 1.2A should suffice right? http://www.yumeprinter.com/product/lm8uu-linear-bearing/

for electronics anyone supplying this locally with good price?
This is what I found so far: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Geeetech-Ramps1-4-...=item4d1a775a3f
good price and free shipping.

Ideally i want to buy everything local, but I find it hard.

Any help?

I think most of the thing you can find locally, just the price might be slightly expensive than those in ebay or aliexpress.

For stepper motor, you should look at the torque value, then the current will depends on how much your motor driver can deliver.

Filament I would recommend http://web.qwikfab.com/. So far havent face any problem with my print.

I bought my Ormerod Printer Kit from RS Malaysia. I never get any parts from local supplier so far, mostly I search around aliexpress. But blomker is quite active here, maybe you can contact them. yume seems have reasonable price as well.

Some one mentioned in previous post that is a hardware shop selling bearing and laser cutting service if you are near klang valley.

Hi, altan... You are working during CNY? Huat ah...

Yes, ishe7ata you might get from altan, he got his own LYN sales thread:
[WTS] Affordable & Quality 3D Printing Service, Now Everyone Can 3D Print! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Recommended reprapper!
But you might only got it after one week, because all the courier service only resume next Monday.
Unless you could find a reprapper in Penang, helping you to print at a cost.
Thank you for supporting local reprappers...

Thanks for the recommendation! : thumbs:

Yes, the printer don't need the rest and I do but it won't take more than half an hour to start a print. I try to keep my printer busy as much as possible.

Yeah i put oil from time to time, mines starting to rust abit, you could try sourcing stainless steal bearings. the bearings from china are just normal steel ones.

It would be great if you could contact them directly through their fb: https://www.facebook.com/QwikFab for faster and official response.
