i had a CIMB card 4 years ago, and i maxed out both cards totalling RM12K, now after 4 years i get a call saying that now i have to pay 22K which is inclusive on interest.
I want to pay this off slowly, they told me if if i pay the first RM300 for the first month they will get rid of all the interest and i can then start slowly paying it back monthly.
Should i believe them? This was the convo on the phone?

I will take the offer with a pinch of salt as it is not offered to you in black and white. (official writing)
You definitely need to seek further official clarification as your situation is rather precarious.

Let's say a principal and supplementary card have different cardholder names. When the supplementary cardholder has overdue payment, does this affect the principal cardholder? Credit history, interest rate, etc.

Principal card holder are responsible for everything that the supplementary cardholder does. This statement should sum up and answers all your questions.

I just published my review of the revamped RHB EVO credit card - RHB EVO Visa and MasterCard - It's For Entertainment and eShopping Only.

The main benefit of the RHB Evo is the 20% cash back for entertainment expenses, but still capped at RM50/month. One also earns 2X points for eshopping and paying bills via RHB Online.i

you might be a careful person, but other new users may not be. so a good advice is to remind all new users to sign it.

True, but if one picks up your card and there is no signature at the back, they signed, even easier to go through because they do not need to learn your signature.

Those merchants handling your card are supposed to verify the signature. In the case of fraud, if proven they did not verify the signature, the losses are for them to bear. I believe not enough awareness is given to those cashiers for the minimum due diligence they should adhere to.

Few years ago, I forgot to sign my CC for several months.
One cashier ask me, and I sign the back of the CC in front of her, then sign the receipt doh.gif

General rule, pay before due date to avoid penalty. Due date will be stated in your monthly statement, usually 20 days after the statement date.

For ezypay, you need to read on what are specific terms.

Best and recommended financing method by forumers here:
- Have 2.5k cash already ready.
- swipe 2.5k, if Amex at weekend.
- when bill comes, pay 2.5k settle all.

2nd best - convert to 0% installment
- 6/12 months
- every month pay full amount of the installment.

dan lain lain yawn.gif (not recommended shakehead.gif )
* >0% installment/ezypay or with admin charges
* minimum payment monthly

NO, the 25th purchase will only appear in the next month cycle ie your next statement.

You cannot apply the credit card without income documents as per new BNM guideline.

Not true. The bank will pull fresh new CCRIS report with or without you submitting.
