My wifey wanted to switch cc because angry mbb doesn't want to waive annual fee cost saying swipe not enough on the master card. Visa is fine to get waive. mbb will get back to her in 5-7 days if they can waive her master cc. Been using mbb cc for more than 10 yrs.. Still treat us like that, so got fed up.

So now angry want to switch lo, but she just stop work to take care of kids..

Maybe can consider to request to change or 'upgrade' to maybank 2 cards instead. No annual fee and pretty sure it beats the standalone maybank card in terms of benefits. And you get to keep the treatpoints too.

First post gives alot of info here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2434771

I think you may need to fill up the card upgrade request form. Easier if you can deal with them at the Maybankard Centre @ 1U or KLCC. If not mistaken, there is a new one at MV.

just got a new job, new salary difference is quite a lot compared to the previous..never had a credit card before although I was already qualified.

so my question is when applying for credit cards will they set my credit card limit according to my new job salary or current?

I understand the banks need 3 months salary slips, but I wonder if they'll adjust my credit limit according to my latest offer letter?

As you said, why don't you wait for 3 months before applying for a credit card. They will use your new salary as reference and I'm sure you can figure out what will happen next right ?

Are you trying to say you signed up for the card without even understanding the product first ? That's rather unwise isn't it ?
And you come here to ask us to research for you after you signed up for the card ?

This is up to you whether to accept the offer or not..
For those with hire purchase, this is very common for banker to ask you to sign up a credit card. My answer is always a big No.....

Since you insist for an advise ... here it is.

There has never been a mention of any prerequisite for a loan application to be credit card application. Please read your application form and I challenge you to look for that clause that require you to sign up for additional products as the approval condition.
It's always the case of the irresponsible agent trying to meet their cc and personal loan quota (They often carry this together) by "bundling" the both and "conning" the unsuspecting consumer into believing this is necessary. Bro @Titan_Gunners is right in saying ... you have the right to reject + likely you are unwise in signing up for something which you don't understand.

1. Cancel that card and pay up the GST. Consider you are paying the price for your mistake.
2. Don't be misled just because anyone offer you any form of loan.
3. Next time, don't sign up for any financial products you don't understand.
4. Do your homework before coming here and asking people to spoon fed and rescue you.

An HSBC card agent (Works for the HSBC bank and not a 3rd party marketing entity) that approached me admit this to me. They tried the same trick but I counter them with the correct fact which they shyly admits it because I verbally mentioned that I don't subscribe to lying agents. (And there were a lot of people around at that time)

Hi Bros, I'm Back From Melbourne.

@MilesandMore - collected my National Australia Bank Visa Debit Card. Luckily it's not pink, hahaha. Click above link to see my Black NAB DEbit Card smile.gif

While I was in Citibank Melbourne, the teller asked it I wanted a Citibank Credit Card. I said yes but I told her I got no income in Australia and she then said sorry no can do then unless I open a CitiGold Account. haha.

1. Unless you are blacklisted, I don't see why you will have a problem.
2. Approval are Yes and No. You should not play the game of getting approval chances higher ... coz if you need to, I'd (and all of us here) suspect you have problems in getting it via normal means + are you that desperate ? If you are ... you need to be realistic and seriously relook at your finances. (You want an honest answer right ? ... here you are)
3. Chicken and egg question but you should not allow yourself to be misled by agents (coz these days where it is more challenging to get people to sign up, they will say all sort of sweet things to you to make you say yes) + only apply a financial product when you truly need it and able to maintain it responsibly + do your homework before jumping in.

If you had swipe more than 12 times, the annual fee should be waived. Call CS immediately and ask for waiver.
