They get to assemble the inspira, and they can actually how ppl design plastic parts like dashboard with clips and soft plastic.

No one will actually share core tech, and not everyone can learn it anyway smile.gif

smile.gif it depend what they wanted from tech transfer. They know how to design a car already, they just need to pay attention on details and plastic quality only smile.gif

And of cos, brand image. Afaik, any one with 70k budget is very hard to convince them to get proton. One even get a swift as familly car to carry baby and wife smile.gif just to avoid the local car badge.

Next they need to hire some very good marketing guy to do wonder

The marketing guy really need to work on the perception. Most having wrong perception of the brand.

Why they have wrong perception? Brand image build over long period.... With that kind of history, what do u think people will think of the brand?

Or we should immediately give credit before the car even hit the road? Why we have to?

Not talking about P3. Being Proton, they actually improving. Still people just discredit them whatever they do. Even the car was not release, it was already being discredit.
Persona, Exora, Saga, Inspira wasnt bad at all. They share similar problem like others, but the treatment they get from general public is really bad. That is why the marketing need to focus on perception. If they really think their product is no longer have those quality issues, they should start telling people about it.

ouh.. so u rather spend 90k for Honda city over this p3? no one can afford foreign car, the only choices are p2 and proton for average malaysian.
But some people buy foreign car just for the brand and rest of month need to ikat perut because to pay expensive hire purchase every month.

now people buy p2 also because it brand, true story.. but when it come to proton everything is cheap.

no need evidence from google bro :-). Come n visit the real world bro. For the time being, we have lotus engineering n prtn engineering here. In comin future, dunno, better grab 1st hand info while u can get.

But if u r in japan n europe, u can also visit other makes pwrtrain division.

:-) ah, forget to mentioned, i think u shud send a letter first before get approval to visit any rnd coz u know, hanky panky secrecy of rnd.

Did i mentioned indo run on ron 88 as main fuel?(still cant recall when last time we had ron 88 in malaysia :-)) Need to wait till 2013 to wait for beettle to degrade to euro2 engine but tsi golf is already there, no need to wait. I believe tsi there also downgrade to euro 2 from euro 5, but then they did mentioned it give out better emmision in the same press conference, r the indons being conned or screwed by them? :-).

Ps, see whether uk spec gen2 used same cat spec or diff from malaysian spec..n even cps engine need to detune due to indo ron 88 oil. Dont u know tsi n latest one used high compression ratio?

oh thats actually subaru's exhaust.

=========
In 2003, a sports version of Saga Iswara powered by a miserable 550kw pushrod, Milo-tin cylinder 8000cc V12 disposable, intercooled engine with Nissan Skyline taillights and Subaru Impreza WRX exhaust system hit the market.

in 2004, the Saga Iswara was facelifted again and renamed as Saga LMST (Like My ShiT, or alternaively, Lame Miserable Slow Turd). This new version featured enlarged tits both front and rear. It also had an Audi TT-inspired dashboard, Civic Type R bucket-seat and 1st generation Lotus Elise-derived dashboard display. As you can see, Proton try very hard to be sporty, just like Lotus.

guys. i have check one review on net. vios get 0 – 100 km/h just a little under 12 secs. it is faster than executive preve which takes 12.5 secs. and vios top speed managed to get 180 km/h yet executive cvt preeve 170 km/h only. hmmmmm. that makes me wonder

but premium preve only use 5.8l/100km. what is vios fc figure? premium preve should be better than vios right?

Official figures are not always reliable. Proton say the Saga FLX 1.6 top speed is 165 km/h, when already got member went 200km/h. Official FC figures, forget about it.

Bear in mind, the P321a is about 200-300kg heavier than the Vios, they are not even in the same segment of cars.

You should be comparing to Forte or Civic.

If you care about performance, always optimize with Premium one.
Exec spec just using normal 1.6 engine. With P3-21A heavy weight body, the acceleration not really promising.

ok. executive preve got 150 nm of torque at 4000 rpm. with weight of 1325 kg. the torque over weight ratio is 0.113 at 4000 rpm

ill make comparison with persona highline. it have 150 nm of torque at 4000 rpm. with weight of 1245 kg. the torque over weight ratio is 0.119 at 4000 rpm

that means persona highline acceleration is better than the new executive preve. this is the not so good part over weight addition of preve. the cvt transmission does not help much except in better fuel consumption.

the executive preve would be much slower than persona highline. correct me if im wrong.

From Headlightmag.com review
Vios (4AT) 0-100km/h: 12.10s, 80-120: 9.59s FC: 14.52 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 178km/h

I think P3-21A should be compared with C-secment cars (Altis, Civic, Lancer EX, etc).
Altis (1.6G 4AT) 0-100km/h: 11.74s, 80-120: 8.50s FC: 15.14 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 187km/h@4500rpm
Altis (1.8G CVT) 0-100km/h: 10.28s, 80-120: 7.96s FC: 15.33 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 190km/h@4500rpm
Altis (2.0V CVT) 0-100km/h: 9.56s, 80-120: 7.69s FC: 14.12 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 185km/h@4200rpm
Lancer EX (1.8 CVT) 0-100km/h: 12.78s, 80-120: 9.28s FC: 12.92 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 195km/h@5700rpm
Lancer EX (2.0 CVT) 0-100km/h: 10.61s, 80-120: 7.64s FC: 11.85 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 200km/h@6200rpm
Civic FD (1.8 5AT) 0-100km/h: 11.72s, 80-120: 9.37s FC: 15.36 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 199km/h@5400rpm
Civic FD (2.0 5AT) 0-100km/h: 10.38s, 80-120: 7.70s FC: 14.74 km/l (110km/h), Max Speed: 220km/h@6600rpm

I really want to read P3-21A review from Headlightmag.com but unfortunately PNA (Proton Distributor in Thailand) don't let him review any proton car.
