I am working for MIcron....lol
Yeap..Micron is still hiring... some companies like Syntronics, Infineon, Motorola, etc stil hiring..
But i do not see bright future for semicon in SG...if ur intention to come SG is only to earn SGD & then go bek MSIA after accumulating a certain amount...is ok
But if u want to make it big in SG ... fat chance...
If there is economy crisis... Semicon is the 1st field to be hit hard... followed by end products companies....

Sorry bro, one does not simply tell ppl their wage...
It's ok to tell a fresh grad pay as benchmark, but after 2 years, it's best PnC icon_rolleyes.gif

No..I'm from west msia. they offered me 3.2k. In the appeal form it's stated that their appeal for S Pass has been rejected so I'm not sure if they first applied for EP, would it make a difference? Supposed to be easier to get S Pass right?

On salary and qualification grounds..it's.. I guess they never expected it to be rejected. They told me they don't really get it as well. They also didn't inform me when it was first rejected. If they told me I would have waited and there is a possibility of retraction of my resignation. It's my first time going abroad and none of my cliques have encountered this before as well so it wasnt in my mind to resign after i get the EP, besides I need to do preparation before I leave. Next time, definitely will wait for it but this is a very costly lesson..very. Now my concern is whether there is a cooldown period for this application and move on. Indescribable feeling.

Looks like they may have apply wrong pass for u.
SPass may not mean its easier, altho generally, SPass is lower salary than Epass.
It all depends on ur quota.
So applying EP for u, might have higher chance than Spass.
u got clarify with the HR?
Altho this is SG, the HR may not be smarter or more efficient.

I tried call IRAS hotline but it's always busy (as expected).

I received SingPass today and login to IRAS web.

Hmm... I don't need to pay tax for year 2011? Or should I keep calling IRAS to verify? I started working in Sg Sept 2011.

If I click on "Begin e-Filing for YA 2012, it shows:

I got a phone call from a company offering a job 2 weeks ago. I was told to wait for his email indicating what I need to do next (medical etc). Until now, I have not yet sighted any email from the company. Any advise what I should do? Should I call the guy and ask him about the status? Or should I just wait for another week? Advise please. Thanks.

Do communicate. It's the right attitude, and the right way of working.
I received 25 emails from current employers BEFORE first day at work. I didn't count how many I sent.

With 5 years experience in fab and assembly, how much salary can get in SG?

should ask them about the status, it can show that u interested in the job offered. it is best not to wait, as they might think that you does not want this job anymore

It's not that bad. I used it yesterday all the way from bkt kempas to Msia custom. Smooth and fast ride. Only no petrol station all the way.
