QUOTE(deodorant @ Feb 14 2012, 01:35 AM) @ntick what on earth does ezlink card have to do with prepaid/postpaid cards? I think what ntick mean is ezlink card is a must buy item, then now he thinking of buy prepaid or postpaid, use prepaid at the beginning is better. For me i bought a starhub green prepaid to use for the 1st month in SG before applying for a singtel postpaid iPhone contract. Do note that unlike in Malaysia, SG prepaid cannot keep number when moving to postpaid, you have to get a new number. Btw, i wonder why most of my Malaysian frenz using singtel postpaid instead of starhub n M1? izit really better? what if i call bac to malaysia quite frequently?which is the best? |

QUOTE(jett991 @ Feb 14 2012, 05:10 PM) hi everyone, does anyone know roughly how long an accounting fresh grad can get a job from Singapore..i need a time frame... Where are you from? because my friends having the same problem, one from penang and one from ipoh, they never get a call from Sg and lastly they work at their hometown. We suspect that when Sg companies view ur CV, they will check your current address, if too far, they wont call you for interview. that is what we think, correct me if i m wrongI have been waiting for job interview for 1 month plus d...receive no reply until now...TT |

QUOTE(jett991 @ Feb 14 2012, 05:16 PM) hi,yhoong, nice to meet you.. Hi, nice to meet you. Actually depend on the company you apply for, not necessary they demand for experienced worker. the best way is just keep sending resumes, no other option unless you want to do thing that once mentioned in this thread, go to the recruitment firm in Sg one by one and apply it on the spot. Duno this worked onot. i never try before.I am from Johor..and the distance between SG and my hometown not really far.it takes about 1 and half hour to SG...sadly,I dun even receive even 1 interviewing call for the time being.... is there any alternative for me to reach these interviews as u think fit??thanks^^ Added on February 14, 2012, 5:19 pmor is it true that they demand experienced worker nowadays? |

QUOTE(jason111785 @ Feb 15 2012, 10:16 AM) I am not underpaid in MYR tho, but I've fix expenses of around 3500 in MYR, so after deducting both sides expenses I must have substantial saving.. Thats the thing I am not sure how's expenditure in SG.. say I dont smoke, dont drink, dont club, dont gamble.. Since you dont smoke, dont drink, dont club and dont gamble, basically your expenses is just rental+food+transport. how can you save even lesser comparing to Malaysia as the exchange rate is 2.4? |

QUOTE(newaisa @ Mar 26 2012, 05:26 PM) Actually A has not issued any offer letter yet. It's just that verbally over the phone it is X-200 Actually last time when i got my job, they also email and verbally inform that they wan hire you, i did ask for offer letter, they say only will give when i got my EP. So what you can do is just trust them, should not be any problem unless the company is just messing around wif you which is highly not possible. As I mentioned on earlier post both still do not have any black and white at this point. it's just that A took the first step to tell me they would like to take me.. I'm just hoping that B will issue an offer letter soon (with no surprises of MINUS sign) then I can take B's offer I get your point cute_boboi, I know I am in no position to choose right now since I am unemployed. I'll see what comes for the next 2-3 days. |

QUOTE(yeahs4.1 @ Mar 26 2012, 11:10 PM) I quote Stiffler from American Pie: You don't score, until you scored. haha, life is just like gambling. if you think it is not in black and white and you feel it is insecure, then should try to push the company to give you offer letter, if they insist not to give you at the beginning, then what should you do??is up to you if you willing to take the risk. This is just my point of viewSame theory applies to job. You do not get the job until you signed the papers. I've had experience which the HR gave me a verbal offer, and proceed with paper signing at their office as soon as both parties were convenient. |

QUOTE(FuQuO @ Apr 3 2012, 03:52 PM) I got a phone call from a company offering a job 2 weeks ago. I was told to wait for his email indicating what I need to do next (medical etc). Until now, I have not yet sighted any email from the company. Any advise what I should do? Should I call the guy and ask him about the status? Or should I just wait for another week? Advise please. Thanks. should ask them about the status, it can show that u interested in the job offered. it is best not to wait, as they might think that you does not want this job anymore |

QUOTE(sylar111 @ May 2 2012, 02:46 PM) Well typical reason. Your credentials is not good enough. But they refused to give the reason. I mean so far what i can think of is that I was a former singapore PR who denouce my PR because of national service and that i was working here for 6 months before. But it was a very long time ago. That mean you come to singapore to work again? So now your EP is rejected? the hiring company plan to appeal for you?Added on May 2, 2012, 2:48 pm Around 7-8 years back. |
