Unless you already have a collection of Nikkors, I don't think an adapter of such cost is worth it sweat.gif Can already get an E-mount lens for that price.

That adapter was for canon ef mount btw. Anyway you are right. unless you have a collection of usm lenses to use, no point getting one...

Good comparison shots there.. Since its' hv been resized, can't really compare the sharpness between 18-55 and this 50-F1.8 lenses.. Wondering this 50-F1.8 focused zone not as sharp/focused as 18-55?

Reason being.. my minolta 50-F1.4 MF although I loved the bokegness but the ceter focusing point abit soft & not as sharp as the kit lens

Where you get the black SEL1855? Looks so much better than silver dry.gif Or did it come with NEX-7? Even then, not all NEX-7 gets a black kit lens.

Try increasing f-stop to 1.7 or 2.0, not that many lenses in this price range perform well wide open laugh.gif

I can make a comparison tonight with both lens. SEL50F18 seem much sharper and better contrast/color than 1855 although my 1855 copy quite good too

It comes with 7. Look pretty and match the black body BUT once scratched, gonna be ugly I guess.

Yeah, got the 7 kit set but hardly have time to play with it. Tonight gonna be free so can test power with some lowlight shooting.

With the kit lens, I highly doubt you can truly test the 24mp's full potential. When I was at USS the other day, I saw a couple was using a NEX7 with SEL 18-200... I was like WHOAAAA~!!!!

USS!? BTW I heard the NEX 7's sensor is very hard on the lens, anyone care to elaborate on that? Or proof? Oh just got my CY and Nikon adapter, let's try out my Zeiss jena 135 and 28 and Yashica 50 1.4 (TEST ALL THE LENS!!!) tonight!

Hi all sifus,

What's are the differences between NEX-5n and C3?

From what i check, 5n seems to have better:
- 1080p video
- touchscreen
- 25k+ ISO range
- lighter, longer battery

PS: Any recommended shops in PG to purchase NEX? =p

Universal Studios Singapore.

Saw that toughnut is from Singapore, so thought he'd know the acronym.

And yes the 24 MPs demands a lot from the lens you put in front of it. Same story goes with my A77

Just a quick test to show sharpness of SEL50F18 and SEL1855

NEX 7 JPEG mode, manual control, 50mm, f5.6, 1/3s, center focus

SEL50F18 on left, SEL1855 on right.

50 OSS is very sharp throughout. Wonder if it's the same story with my Yashica 50 1.4. Are we allowed to do lens comparison here? Just got my adapter so wanting to try out my zeiss jena 28,135, Nikon 28, and Yashica 50 1.4...

Of all the things you can take, you go and take something which is pitch black with no clear and much details sweat.gif

There's a reason why i choose the NEX battery charger as subject. It's pitch black but with lots of details. Try checking the charger hehe. There's a lot of wording and printing at the back but i only show 1:1 crop of 3 sections.
