Word is, both 30/2.8 and 19/2.8 were originally designed for their DP2 Merril P&S. We can expect good stuff to come from it. Do note that the final design for the DP2 merril has a different optical construction... 7 elements compared to 6.

In any case, more 3rd party NEX lenses the better.

Agreed.

But frankly, NEX has alot of options of lens to choose from, if you don't mind losing the AF and using MF with some other lens instead smile.gif

Yes, MF lenses will open up a whole new category for NEX users. I've used quite a few myself before adopting the EA2 adapter and A-mounts. But do remember that Sony is targeting P&S upgraders with the NEX line; most of which are not likely to venture into legacy lenses. It's only us enthusiasts who go for these type of things smile.gif

Of course, hopefully Sony will remember to cater to us enthusiasts and give us some constant aperture zooms or faster primes!

Guys I'm abit split between getting the NEX-5N or the NEX-C3. As far as i know, C3 is slightly cheaper and there's not really much difference between C3 and 5N (correct me if im wrong). So, should I just go for C3 instead? Or any of you know any significant advantage the 5N has over C3?

If you think it's just slightly cheaper, go for the 5N. It's a huge difference, actually. If you browsed the previous pages you would find a lot of posts from people here comparing the 5N and C3 differences. It's readily available; you just have to browse a little.

Use gimp/ . PhotoChop not required, it's free and clears your conscience haha..smile.gif

The only setbacks I have encounter with GIMP so far is.. 1) batch processing 2) Lens correction 3) Once in a while the buttons and pointers misbehave. For 1 and 2, i would have to hunt for the scripts, plugins if they exists for the latest GIMP version.
