Happy Chinese New Year. Planted some p-u-s-s-y willows, and they are blooming nicely.

QUOTE(Aeon89 @ Jan 29 2012, 09:10 PM) whats the difference from NEX C3 and 5N other than the touchscreen? =X noob question still in dilemma, since the price for these two differs. still wondering what should i get >.< Magnesium BodyEVF Compatibility 16.1MP (C3 is 16.2, but not tuned as well as the 5N) Electronic First Curtain Shutter (Shorter, quicker shutter sound) ISO100-25600 (Much better lowlight ability) 10fps In-camera Distortion, CA and Vignetting correction for .JPG Full manual 1080p 25p / 60p video If budget is no issue, skip the C3 and get the 5N. You will regret saving that couple of hundred for the C3 instead of the 5N down the road. Added on January 30, 2012, 11:11 pm QUOTE(whateva2k @ Jan 30 2012, 03:14 PM) Guys, I have a 16GB Pendrive class 10 SDHC which performs noticeably slower than the free Sony 8GB class 4 SDHC on my Nex-5N. Grab a Sandisk Extreme HD. 8GB sells for RM99, and its plenty fast for video and playback. Don't bother with the UHS-1 cards; the 5N is not compatible.Because of that, I assume Pendrive is a lousy brand. I'm planning to get a new 16GB or 32GB SD card. Sony is expensive, which brand would you all recommend? Added on January 30, 2012, 11:12 pm QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Jan 30 2012, 10:10 PM) My system is built around primes. Using the Sony DT35/1.8, Tamron 90/2.8 Macro, and SEL16F28. Some pics at >>> hereThis post has been edited by axii: Jan 30 2012, 11:13 PM |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 1 2012, 03:45 PM) Sony NEX-7 is available here in Taipei. NTD39,990. Body only. Too bad the 18-55mm lens is of different color. The Carl Zeiss 24mm lens is NTD 33,550. Should I? Different color? Do you mean Black, or Silver? People were clamoring for the black kit. RM4109 converted sounds good... since list price here is RM4899 with kit. |

QUOTE(ZeroWrath @ Feb 3 2012, 02:39 PM) Anyone using manual focus lens with adapters? I've been thinking trying out M42 lenses with my NEX-3... The cheaper ones might have infinity focus issues, normally focusing past infinity. Some of it can be modified by shaving down the mount, but it'll take a bit of work.Wanna ask if it's worth spending on the more expensive adapters? Or are the cheaper ones fine? |

QUOTE(ChinWY @ Feb 4 2012, 12:26 PM) ---------------- As for shortage of local stock supply, one other option is mail order from HK. I got my SEL55210 without too much issue. Came to me via DHL. Sweet and fast |

QUOTE(valkjr @ Feb 19 2012, 10:40 PM) That's bloody cheap, actually.NEX-7 body goes for RM4499, while the SEL18200 normally retails from 2100 ~ 2300. In other words, the lens will cost only RM1400. Added on February 20, 2012, 12:23 pm QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 20 2012, 12:00 PM) Headsup.. personally I think this (if the lens are up to good standards) could prove to be awesome for e-mount MTF charts compared to their FF 50/2.8 EX is great on paper. Can't wait to see some actual shots with this lens. For it's price, it's a really sweet deal. Considering the 2.8 aperture, it's not really a huge issue when you factor in the price and size.http://photorumors.com/2012/02/16/sigma-30...rice-announced/ It's a bit slow at f2.8 but small and cheap ...pre-order at USD199 ![]() This post has been edited by axii: Feb 20 2012, 12:23 PM |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 20 2012, 01:20 PM) Word is, both 30/2.8 and 19/2.8 were originally designed for their DP2 Merril P&S. We can expect good stuff to come from it. Do note that the final design for the DP2 merril has a different optical construction... 7 elements compared to 6.In any case, more 3rd party NEX lenses the better. |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Feb 20 2012, 01:48 PM) Agreed. Yes, MF lenses will open up a whole new category for NEX users. I've used quite a few myself before adopting the EA2 adapter and A-mounts. But do remember that Sony is targeting P&S upgraders with the NEX line; most of which are not likely to venture into legacy lenses. It's only us enthusiasts who go for these type of things But frankly, NEX has alot of options of lens to choose from, if you don't mind losing the AF and using MF with some other lens instead Of course, hopefully Sony will remember to cater to us enthusiasts and give us some constant aperture zooms or faster primes! |

QUOTE(eksk86 @ Feb 20 2012, 08:47 PM) Guys I'm abit split between getting the NEX-5N or the NEX-C3. As far as i know, C3 is slightly cheaper and there's not really much difference between C3 and 5N (correct me if im wrong). So, should I just go for C3 instead? Or any of you know any significant advantage the 5N has over C3? If you think it's just slightly cheaper, go for the 5N. It's a huge difference, actually. If you browsed the previous pages you would find a lot of posts from people here comparing the 5N and C3 differences. It's readily available; you just have to browse a little. |

QUOTE(shinzhizu @ Feb 23 2012, 02:46 PM) The FDA-SV1 is a cold-shoe optical viewfinder, meant to be used with the SEL16F28. This means that it's FOV is only 16mm. It will not be accurate if used with the SEL1855 or any other lens. Also, because it is purely optical, you will not get Live View Exposure simulation, or Depth of Field. It is meant purely for framing purposes, or for use in broad daylight. What you see is not what you get. At it's price, it's a terrible buy. I don't recommend it.No Viewfinder, optical or electronic, will improve your picture quality. Added on February 23, 2012, 4:22 pm QUOTE(epsilon_chinwk86 @ Feb 23 2012, 03:39 PM) hey guys quick question here to confirm something. Yes, a CPL will help to reduce reflections somewhat. If i would like to shoot something (figurines) behind a glass cabinet a CPL filter would help me get a better shot right? Going to Cybertroncon next month & im sure lots of pics to be taken behind glass cabinets & reflections bothers me This post has been edited by axii: Feb 23 2012, 04:22 PM |

Normal +10 filter is single element. The Raynox is achromatic (2 groups of 3 elements), providing better image quality.
Brand new Raynox is between RM250 to RM280. I have one for sale, used, for RM200 if you are interested. |

QUOTE(cokehau @ Mar 6 2012, 04:36 AM) hi there, just wanna ask a noob question, raynox 250 is attached to the lens, so we need a step up ring or step down ring to fix to the raynox 250? so, the raynox macro effect will be better on 200mm instead of 55mm? It's a tight fit on the 49mm E-mount. Raynox specs the minimum mount size at 52mm. It'll be easier to attach with a 49-52 step-up.Added on March 6, 2012, 1:49 pm QUOTE(jimmyyap03 @ Mar 6 2012, 06:54 AM) Thank for the offering, why you want to sale it since it is so nice to use?Can it fix with 18-55mm lens? or need to use adapter on it? I've seldom used it since I bought a Tamron SP90/2.8 macro This post has been edited by axii: Mar 6 2012, 01:49 PM |

QUOTE(fansoption @ Mar 6 2012, 02:36 PM) Tamron SP90 + +10 filter + Raynox = Fringing and CAs to the end of the world yo!/fixed But in all seriousness, the lens will probably touch the subject! Don't think my insects like being treated that way, not to mention the difficulties that come with lighting. |
