I mounted it on the wall without fan in my store room and so far after a month it is still not hot at all. My DIR-615 is in a cabinet with PC vent fan blowing at it and it just barely warm. Only STB in living room is hot even on standby.

If got more people in your house surfing at the same time then for sure VIP10 will help. If you think your dad gonna get mad then may as well upgrade to VIP20 straight away. :-) Are you using wireless or wired mostly?

A constant RM200 a month is a lot of money when you have to pay it. :-) Maybe what you can do is start torrenting 24/7 then when your dad finds it slow, he'll upgrade it himself. :-)

I was going to suggest a new router but if you're on wired mostly then the DIR-615 is OK. Wifi is its weak point.

i realze vip5 is really enough... unless u got many (series) addict in ur house.... then all the time new episode coming... full speed 24/7

but for normal user browsing/causl torrent/chat... even for 10 ppls vip5 enough

since ppls excited download like crazy...

then after 2 months... ppls not that excited about speed anymore so dun care .... tm auto down speed to 10

finally after 3 more month..ppls realize 5 is very good for most use... 1080p stream ok wait very2 little... download fast good enough.... reduce speed to 5... ppls don complain at all and never itchy to upgrade to 20....

But you're right, for me also I find VIP5 sufficient. When I first got it, I wished I had 10 or even 20, download so much faster. Now after two months, nothing to download already. Download so many shows also no time to watch. :-)

Even with VIP5 at night, peak time, usually 2 Macs browsing, kids watching youtube on iPads, AppleTV streaming some stuff. No probs. Everything smooth, maybe it also has something to do with the router's QoS and how effective it is.

If really slowdown, I just pinjam neighbors VIP5.

i think its very depends on "luck"? just next door neighbour, same style of house2-1/2 storey, his signal weak at 1st & and floor. but my house, my signal on 2nd floor also still full speed, d/l up to 580kp/s. we bothe din do any tweak after the installation. maybe his installer did something wrong?

series if follow episode only 300mb max 1 episode wat.. unless some ppl go for 720p series , 1gb+ per episode.. but really jialat when trying to chase d/l those with whole complete season that missed...

THe CCTV installer said cannot hook up the CCTV to the internet using my current P1 connection cause its Dynamic I.P... he say only can use Unifi.. But Unifi Dynamic ip also what..

Hmmm again my 20mbps has been capped at 5mbps, and I just came back from a 2 week holiday. Unifi is too much, this happened in january too.

I am a professional CCTV installer myself. Bro, P1 not bcos its dynamic IP, the upload is just not stable. It won't be able to stream images consistently when u want to remote access either on yr phone/tab/pc.

neway, yes you can run both or more IPTV at the same time. However 1 user ID is only valid per IPTV Box.

how to run both STB one go ?

Get an 8 port switch & connect it to the IPTV port on the wireless router.
Another method is enable another VLAN600 port on the D-Link router.
Or Use the mikrotik 250gs to enable an extra VLN600.

ldragon IPTV port can axcess to internet also ? or juz for IPTV?
and how to configure the user id?
