You must be doing something wrong not to feel any difference even in loading Windows, in comparison to your previous WD HDD (I assume).
Fresh install of windows?

Have you optimized your SSD yet?

You shouldn't need to optimise your SSD in order to feel the difference. The difference should be as clear as day and night.

My CPU and SSD is older and slower than yours and I can feel the difference.

Flash mobo to latest bios
Flash SSD to latest firmware 0309
Set SATA mode to AHCI
Fresh install windows
Install latest mobo chipset driver.

If still persist, pls change to Intel platform biggrin.gif

Hi to all sifu here, I am newbie on this SSD thing. One question, if I buy SATA III SSD and plug in my notebook SATA II slot, is there any compatibility issue?

I heard that laptop will face problem like blue screen. Is that true?

Thanks in advance.

by rights SATA3 SSD would work on any SATA2 port coz it's backward compatible. blue screen could be other reason, like what happened to those famous SF controlled SSDs.

So, are you saying that there will be no compatibility issue if I use SATA3 SSD on SATA2 port? I'm on planning to buy SSD to replace my old HDD.

You can try to use Clone software to clone your previous Windows 7 volume/partition only over.
Software like erm, Acronis TrueImage or equivalent.
This is theoretically works but depends on the system, might not work cause the SSD needs proper driver to boot or possibly other Windows related settings.

Fresh install is always recommended when migrating from hdd to ssd. Why? to avoid certain problem later such bsod, hang, slow, etc...
