SSD do not make use of rotor tat made in thailand so there will be no price hike as long nand flash stay low =)

how about creating a owner list of SSD user across all the brand?

for example, Crucial M4 user list, Corsair Force Series, OCZ Vertex series etcs?

no problem as long as TS could accept "hi, pls add me to the list" PMs or this thread will be bombarded with this kind of replies.

i think i will organise it according to brand with a sub classification of series/model range instead of specific model
for example
OCZ Vertex( consisit of all vertex regardless of vertex 2 3 enterprise etcs)
thumbup.gif

anyway more update will come soon but not so soon having final exam!!

Sometimes i just too curious to know that ssd maker claim their ssd with MTBF=2 million hours rated. If this is so,why only 3 years warranty which is even shorter than mechanical hhd's 5 years warranty with MTBF=100,000 hours ?

Let's say,i put 2000 pieces of ssd into test and run for 2000 hours, but unfortunately 1 of the 2000 fails after duration of the 2000 hours test.
So i could declare that my ssds that running fine after 2000 hours has a MTBF=4 million hours. smile.gif

That probability distribution before failure will be acceptably low,but that does not guarantee the remaining working ssd will not fails after, says 2001 hours.

Opinions welcome.

Silly question but...

Since SSDs have a limited amount of times it can write... What happens when it runs out? Its gonna become un-useable like a bad sector?
