Hi to all sifu here, I am newbie on this SSD thing. One question, if I buy SATA III SSD and plug in my notebook SATA II slot, is there any compatibility issue?
I heard that laptop will face problem like blue screen. Is that true?
Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Mar 10 2012, 01:43 PM) by rights SATA3 SSD would work on any SATA2 port coz it's backward compatible. blue screen could be other reason, like what happened to those famous SF controlled SSDs. So, are you saying that there will be no compatibility issue if I use SATA3 SSD on SATA2 port? I'm on planning to buy SSD to replace my old HDD.

QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 16 2012, 10:20 AM) depend on price when u comparing sata2 vs sata3 disk i'd take whichever cheaper But the speed will not fully utilised. Dont you think it is a waste to buy sata3 ssd while u only have sata2 port.

QUOTE(ahpaul82 @ Mar 17 2012, 12:57 AM) Thanks, need a ICH7 chipset board only know it will work or not. for me, the SSD is faster than my previous 2x36GB Raptor in RAID0 mode. There is no doubt that SSD is fast.
