Acronis, Paragon, EaseUS and Norton all have the cloning capabilities. You must have the sama GB capacities or higher and it will clone all whatever in the source disk including partitions bits by bits. I'm using Acronis to image my RAID 0 HHD to my RAID 0 SSD. The only thing you have to recheck whether your new SSD have the right alignment or will will suffer unoptimized SSD performance.

Then use image backup for C drive, put the image in the USB external backup, run the bootable Acronis disc, and do the recovery. It will image all the backup into ur new SSD regardless how many GB your SSD have. Remember only for your system partition only :C as system partition have only not more than 80GB or less. Uninstall unwanted applications like games or others than do the backup. Use ur SSD as OS, HHD as ur storage.

You honestly won't go wrong with either.
That 5 years warranty sure is a good deal for peace of mind.

Only reason I'm still somewhat on  the fence of the 520 is because that it is still a relatively new drive and eventhough Intel's reliability is legendary, I won't for one hop onto a new drive so quickly.
Atleast not for now, perhaps give it another 3 months to see the reactions from users.

That's just me of course.
If you're feeling confident (again, given that both Intel and Samsung's reliability record is the best in the industry), get the Intel 520.

myself personally try to knock the Intel SSD on table and trust me even it is bend, and it still usable biggrin.gif

damn sad...i think my 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 kong-ed. The other day I just power up my rig and then all of a sudden it couldn't load the Boot OS. BIOS could not even detect the SSD except for my other 3 HDDs. Plug the SSD to another PC also can't be detected. All my important data was kept inside there. Looks like it's dead.

I did some reading on other tech forums and it seems like i'm not alone on this but so far there's no other remedy but to RMA it. Anyone faced similar issues before? I'm still hesitating to RMA for the moment coz still finding ways to revive it and hopefully can retrieve my data.

Can recommend me a SSD?

I just need like... ~50GB for OS, 1~2 games, and some application like photoshop and video editing.

It must be cheapest that can be found, act like a SSD and not having problems.

If the firmware problem can be fixed by flashing, its ok. biggrin.gif

Built on their own Indilinx controller?
I would say it's a good change perhaps, after all the heat they've received with SF-2281.

So far their current Indilinx driven SSD, the Octane has been "okay" so far in terms of reliability.
Only problem is that it is a lil' pricey and at the same price point of a Samsung 830. In which case, going for the Samsung 830 is a better deal as it is a faster SSD.

What about you read up on SSD technology first before going in and buying blindly?
SSD is still a rather new technology (yes, flash drives has been around for more than a decade) but it's more complex than just buying a HDD and be done with it.

Brands only say so much about an SSD.
It's the controller which is important.
