hello everyone.. i'm thinking of getting a 80-120GB SSD with good reliability and balanced performance...

any recommendation?
*
Personally, I would go for Samsung 830 or Crucial M4. They have better read performance , and seems to be more reliable than Sandforce SSD.

Where to find 830?
*
Amazon US. I just bought the 64gb from there for 142 usd, shipping included. Most stores there don't ship to MY, but I found one called MemoryC who ship to MY for only 12 usd.
Also found M4 there at 110 usd but for shipping need to pay 30+ usd.

Try post Crystal Mark score and see for the 830.
Wanna compare.

I just ordered it 2 days ago, will only arrive after 2-3 weeks. Try google it, I think Anandtech or Tomshardware did some benchmarks for it. Also my MB is SATA2, so scores should be lower.

Is it normal to get occasional BSOD when running on a SSD?

I am on a OEM Samsung 830 128GB drive and running it on a C2D E8400 and a P43 Mobo. Fresh Windows 7 64 install even.

Bought it from here: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry48644735

I have been using 830 64gb in my htpc for almost 2 weeks now, never got any BSOD.

Anyone heard of Force brand SSD? I got a quote of RM449 for 60GB.
*
I think you mean corsair force. I feel that is expansive, you can already get crucial m4 for 110 usd or samsung 830 for 140 usd, that is if you don't mind ordering online.

So, are you saying that there will be no compatibility issue if I use SATA3 SSD on SATA2 port? I'm on planning to buy SSD to replace my old HDD.
*
I have been using Samsung 830 on sata2 but never had any issue.
