I think it looks pretty slick though and it has potential but Microsoft needs to add support for more powerful hardware. Their Marketplace though still not as good as Android Market and App Store are gaining traction recently.
I think Windows Phone have potential really. |

I expected it to look different from the Lumia 800... let's see how Nokia fares nonetheless.

Hardware limitation is thanks to Microsoft. And the cons of Lumia 900 over Lumia 800 is there's no more curve glass!
Both Titan II and Lumia 900 will be available on AT&T in US. I wonder which will consumer choose. 16mpx vs Carl Zeiss. |

I get to play with my friend Focus S ytd (16g, fast, big screen but not to big, thin, light in my pocket), good phone. But what I like about lumia is that it let people know that you are walking around with WP7os instead of droid twin phone.
oh yea it won the Best of CES award won |

Yeah, it is a weird timing. Saw the video posted by MyNokiaBlog.com which was recorded by Star.InTech. Unknown release of launch, although it has been mentioned next month, price range still a little on a Work-In-Progress status....
I thought I heard Elop mentioning Malaysia is one of their biggest market for Nokia, however they have yet to launch it here first. Sigh~~ A slight disappointment on the logistic though. This post has been edited by jbb_lkh: Jan 21 2012, 10:51 AM |

In the same way, I like the way how Nokia is preceding their phone on a step-by-step basis with the new WP Mango (aka 7.5). Well, of course the camera is not what we are expecting from the Nokia N8. What matters most is that Nokia is directing their consumers is the new UI that they are heavily promoting.
So far, I've yet to hear from anyone with the new Windows Phone platform neither is it from Nokia itself. Moreover, human are not very prone to changes when it comes with an expectation to learn from scratch. Well, I do believe in Nokia in many ways... I wanna give this a try from my current Nokia N8 if possible to see how is it different from Symbian to WP. It was claimed that they were trying to divert most of the Symbian users for an ease to pick up WP. Let's hope it is true. This post has been edited by jbb_lkh: Jan 22 2012, 01:34 AM |

And the Lumia 900 is rumoured to be heading over to UK in June. However, that's kind of late knowing that how saturated the market is with much better options.
Still, looking forward to its arrival in Malaysia. |

Yeah, just hear about the news hat L900. Still there's another rumour on the Lumia family will be opt for a higher Camera resolution this year to help take over the flagship from N8 too. How far this is true, still uncertain yet.

i will definitely consider with against the iphone 5 and sgs 3 in months to come
the only thing now is the OS. i tried the lumia 800 and i like the presentation of it. but i heard it can't unleash its true potential in msia due to regional issues eg : xbox live. |

There is nothing to compete, WP7 always run at single core, descent processor and RAM. iOS always have higher specs compare to wp7. Android has the highest specs. I don't know how to compare....

Lumia 900 has so far had positive reviews.
Battery should last up to 1 and a half day after full charge. Camera Quality is comparable, or eve better than 4S. Build quality, what more to praise than the unibody design? But i'm trying to understand the "lip" feeling that they have on the body. Heavier than 800, but feels sturdier too. Said to be compared to a Note and SII, that the 900 feels "safer" to it. I can't remember the negatives of the phone. There were some though. |

QUOTE(v1900130 @ Apr 3 2012, 12:15 PM) SW is like what one would expect from WP7.Screen is amazing though, large and clear. The deadband areas are minimal and non-visible when in idle mode. Build quality is great. Design is growing on me after I had my N9. Camera quality is OK, sufficient but nothing to shout about. I only had it to try indoors under office lighting, a bit yellowish to my taste, but I've never had another WP7 to compare to. My other phone the N8 still beats it in that area. All in all, great phone if you need a large screen, have big hands and pockets as well as possibilty to utilise the LTE tech. |

SNS on windowsphone is always amazing. All my chat aka facebook chat, yahoo chat, google talk, windows live messenger are all integrated just a swipe it shows who is online and the speciality of the messaging you can continue regardless which social network message you from its all within the same conversation for that particular individual or group.Email is also amazing you can email from their contact, share thru email and even type their email. The best part of the email it downloads all your mails but without images or attachment. When you open that particular email you can choose to download the image by clicking one image or attachment. One swipe it shows all your unread mails / all mails and etc Speed of OS do check out this video of a Nokia Lumia 800 How fast is a 1.4ghz processor? How fast is it against an android dual core? only flaw is the hassle of zune most files transfer need to go thru zune like iOS Indoor the Nokia Lumia 800 with same hardware with the 900 do face some challenges but in outdoor its just amazing. here some sample photos taken by Nokia Lumia 800 without post processing straight from camera to flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/thenokiagalle...9608885/detail/ So the benefit over the Nokia Lumia 800 on the Nokia Lumia 900 you get bigger screen and bigger battery life for the same experience This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Apr 3 2012, 08:13 PM |

I am using IMPRO for yahoo and google.
Why not? Care to explain why dual core can lose to single core? Spec sheet logically should be faster than single core? Why is it slower when compare to a windows phone? What excuse do u have for it? Dont you think its a joke a dual core lose to a single core? Isnt that means the dual core is overpriced? |

Wat I mean is, lumia 800 costs 1499 with free earphone worth maybe 300+? So can be said it's already RM1199. So how is adding RM600 for a bigger screen worth it? Why not? Actually its not only adding the screen it has also a bigger battery capacity and comes with gyroscope as well. The earphone is while stock last so its not really comes with it.
If i have to make a choice L800 or L900 ill consider L900 but if i already owned a L800 its not worth upgrading |

Reviews for Lumia 900 are out.
All reviews from Anandtech, Engadget and so many other review sites said the 900's camera is great and awesome but fanboi Joshua Topolsky from The Verge just gotta hate on it. |

WP Central says the camerea is a little letdown though. WMPoweruser also echoes the same sentiment with their slow roll out review. |

All other reviews echo the same thought about Lumia 900's camera though - good, but not great. But only The Verge goes all the way to say that it's even worse than the Galaxy Nexus, famous for bad camera.
QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Apr 4 2012, 12:23 PM) Actually aside from the camera, I found the The Verge review to be pretty honest and I agree with many of the reviewer's points especially with regards to the Windows Phone software and ecosystem. I would say that that is partially true. I agree with most, if not all of the things he said about the problems with Windows Phone. But that's the problem, he only states the problem of the WP OS and didn't even bother to talk about the great stuff about it. Maybe he's just tired of repeating the same stuff after reviewing so many Windows Phone devices, then my suggestion is to have a completely separate review solely for the WP OS! Since they're all the same, right? There he can talk all day about its pros and cons, instead of dumping all the cons of WP on one review in the Lumia 900 and expect people to read reviews of other Windows Phones to get a sense what better features lies beneath! Such a huge website but fails when it comes to having a better review system. Even Engadget has a separate review for Sense 4.0, and directs users reading the reviews for One X, S and V to that separate review since Sense 4.0 is the same across all One devices. |

For so many people to ask the same question, shouldn't we be asking Nokia Malaysia instead?

Or we're just easily satisfied with the quality. haha.Tech Republic did a review specifically for Business and IT Pros. Seems to ring true that if you have lots of use on Microsoft programmes, you should consider switching to a Lumia. If not, then, it's still a hard buy. |

Imagine a new user, see all the Lumia 900 ads, and want to read some reviews. So he goes to a 'reputable' site like The Verge and only see all the bad stuff about WP7. Since the person is a new and casual user, I doubt he will research further than that. The reviewer's act can be forgived if he would provide a simple link to previous WP7 reviews... but alas... |

I don't interpret what he said that way because he's an experienced phone reviewer so he should be exposed to many other phones like the 4S with much better camera performance, so I don't think that he will find any phone camera difference significant, unless it is really significant. But that's up to different interpretation anyway. |

Seems like Lumia 900 doesn't have the Nokia Maps and 3D accelerometer. Doesn't have FM rasio also. Kinda letdown. |

QUOTE(rippein @ Apr 10 2012, 12:15 PM) lumia 800 and 900 comparison Are you sure ? There is some mistakes on the site. =.=Seems like Lumia 900 doesn't have the Nokia Maps and 3D accelerometer. Doesn't have FM rasio also. Kinda letdown. |

QUOTE(v1900130 @ Apr 10 2012, 04:34 PM) I really really hope its a mistake. The Nokia Maps is a good selling point for the phone. I'd rather buy this phone than a phone and a GPS seperately.Just hoping they can come up with worthwhile apps. I personally think this phone will be a great change for ppl who are bored of iOS n Android. |

Hi to all lumia 800 users!
Any recommendations for a good screen protector? There's a scratch on my screen =( So I got myself a 5 bucks one, which is very non scratch resistant. Need something study! (Oh and it'd be nice if it covers the entire screen and not just the active area) Thankss! |

It bugs me that the 610 is coming in the following weeks (May) to our shores, and there's no news on 900.

Maybe I should just rephrase my question to "Does Digi offer LTE because I saw their advert in TV?"
Never knew it's a requirement to be fluent in English before posting in this section. My bad then and I apologize. Should have just kept my mouth shut. 1st post in Lumia section and already kena tembak. Hahahaha |

Is it me or anyone else feel that Mr Aspire kinda like to pick up war with ppl in some occasion ._.
Sometimes it's because of worshiping Nokia brand, but sometimes it goes beyond that, more towards self-esteem defence like that. Not everything need to argue until die die right? Sometimes also feel waffak on those flame posts. P.S: I'm definitely hate to pickup war with you Mr. Aspire (and im sure you would get offended), but I'm really kind of tired seeing all these all over again lol. Maybe you share pics can already, 一图胜千金eh. Lastly, sorry for purposely login just to flame you, now I'm logging off, kthxbai. |

That is his style. I'm sure if Nokia didn't get along with MS, he won't even take a look at Wp7, a true Nokia fan.
Anyway, back on topic. The Ben guy from MS said that white model is glossy so those who wanted to own one in the future might take it into consideration since glossiness = scratch prone. This post has been edited by Chyan: Apr 28 2012, 11:06 PM |

The curve screen makes it as though the images and words are floating on the glass but without the curve screen, well, like normal display la I guess.Besides, Lumia 800 pixel density will be higher than that of Lumia 900 but Lumia 900 has a non-pentile AMOLED display which should be much pleasing to look at when viewing text. Don't come and talk and say pentile does not matter, are you sticking your eyes that close and all that talk. Non-pentile is better than pentile that's it. Don't be bias. @.@ |

What we could gather so far from across the channel, is the official lunch today of the lumia 900 Pricing as been seen as low Sing$ 679.00 without contract.
One could only hope that Malaysia will follow or be close to that, it will be so cool. This post has been edited by Nocrimes: May 26 2012, 05:15 PM |

900 is pretty damn smooth, but yeah, it has the least of the app among the 3 (ios and android). but reaching almost 100k, so not so bad
And its not Windows Mobile, its Windows Phone. Windows Mobile os is not produced anymore |

QUOTE(Jake Lim @ May 29 2012, 04:08 PM) How can it be smooth? does it compressed the apps? I heard from youtube that it don't support HD viewing? It's totally different from Windows Mobile. You can forget about Windows Mobile experience. It's a very simple and basic OS, like iOS. They make it very simple, and have good memory management. If you're expecting powerful smartphone OS, you might be disappointed. It's more of a simple, basic OS, like the iOS, it's more like a media OS, in this case for Zune, as how iOS is a media OS for iPod Touch. However, most people just want a simple, easy to use, smooth and reliable phone. It provides this experience, but it also comes with some limitations and restrictions just like the iOS (no bluetooth file transfer, reliance on Zune software (as how iOS relies on iTunes), and so on). If you can live with, then it's not an issue. Finally, the best feature of Windows Phone is the Social Networks Integration, which is done very well and comprehensive. If you're a social networks person (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc), then you'll truly appreciate this feature... Here's a demo runthrough from Nokia Lumia 800: |

creating hotspot got 2 mode, one is Ad-hoc mode (Vista and below windows for example)...one is Infrastructure mode (Wireless Access point, android for example)
symbian/meego/maemo/iOS/PC can connect to ad-hoc, but not android...not sure on WP...maybe like android too? QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jun 3 2012, 12:53 AM) its annoying for me because my Nokia N8 can connect, iphone 4S can connect. Just my Lumia 800 cant. It wont even appear in wifi sifu, your HOX wifi hotspot cannot be detected by Lumia device? strange..because HOX (android) suppose to create wifi in infrastructure mode, which is globally can be connected by any device... |

Lumia 900's screen may be bigger but its resolution is still the same as the Lumia 800 so there aren't actually more pixels. Images won't look as sharp.

Yes, the pixel density is lower. So, in terms of sharpness, it's worse but look at the bright side of Lumia 900 as well. It is a non-pentile AMOLED screen. I would rather have a larger size and non-pentile on Lumia 900 than the pentile display on Lumia 800.
Lumia 900 is basically similar to 800 with a larger screen. |

QUOTE(pikacu @ Jun 3 2012, 09:39 PM) huMmm, pentile<tft screen< amoled < super amoeld screen? Yes, N9 has the same pentile display. The problem with pentile display is the images aren't as sharp. But as pixel density increases, the side effects of pentile isn't that noticable. SuperAMOLED is just Samsung's marketing scheme to name their AMOLED display. SuperAMOLED Plus on the S II by Samsung is a non-pentile AMOLED display. The subpixel for a pentile display is lower than a non-pentile display.Im not sure if Lumia 800 have pentile screen, but if it have, so shall be N9 too..which I'm not sure what is the difference between pentile and non pentile screen. from what I noticed...pentile screen = miniature checker board screen? Personal preference, I prefer non-pentile anytime. Just can't take the effect of pentile display. But the pentile effect on the Lumia 800 isn't that bad actually. The effect on Samsung Galaxy S and Motorola Razr is quite bad. Can't stand it. Lumia 900 will have no such issues though I'm worried that the pixel density may be too low that pixelation may occur due to the low number of actual pixel per inch. Let's just wait for demo units to appear in Nokia Store to judge for this matter. AMOLED has true blacks as the black areas are completely off. The pixels that aren't displaying anything is completely off. Pros, saving electricity and the contrast ratio is very good. Good for watching videos and movies. LCD on the other hand has the light shining through all the pixels even if it's black. So, you see black as a very dark grey or milky grey instead of true blacks. LCD produces more natural colours compared to AMOLED till date. But I'm guessing this is more of a software tuning than the actual AMOLED panels itself. |

Yes That is exactelly what I ment. Thank You for correcting me.
I just have to amend what I wrought as I am a glad owner of the black One now. The package is bare but it is ok you got all you need. @ RM: 1799.00. Free Gift is a Nokia Universal portable USB Charger DC-16. Worth RM: 109.00, and free cutting for the Sim card. They do not have cover Yet in stock but show me some samples, 4 to be exact, Pricing is on the High side to my liking, will wait for that one for a while or check it online. Playing a little with it, well it is what I was expecting a nice piece of hardware very smooth. The unit Was set up for Singapore as there is more apps over there, it come already preloaded with Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Tango Video Call, Tunedln Radio, Lumia Highlight, Maps Creative Studio Contact transfer ( It dose not work directly for my HTC HD Mini), and Google Mail. I do state these as it is nice to have them right away. I understand that downloading and installing them is a no brainer but still. Still Have Yet to install this stupid ZUNE. Well Have Fun with it Guys. Added on June 8, 2012, 8:58 am QUOTE(santaclaus92 @ Jun 7 2012, 09:48 PM) i saw a post about dropping files directly into file manager (without accessing through Zune) but i forgot where is the post already. it is a link to GSMArena. QUOTE(hengguowei @ Jan 10 2012, 10:27 PM) I think it looks pretty slick though and it has potential but Microsoft needs to add support for more powerful hardware. Their Marketplace though still not as good as Android Market and App Store are gaining traction recently. Yep~ they have potential with single core it's faster than quad core android devicesI think Windows Phone have potential really. Just need to upgrade their marketplace |

From the above link, it says that the apps can be shared through the same window live id account on different phone. But how exactly we can get the apps that were bought/ downloaded before? |

Ok, got my internet upgraded to 1gb, i hope that's enough, and maxis was helpful to guide me on the internet settings.
If you log in to their online portal, they have instructions on te Lumia 900. Which was kinda cool seeing as they haven't offered the phone yet. But i've got a query though. Anyone managed to check if say that we have wifi and mobile network connected, which one would the phone take priority on? Or is there a setting for that? Added on June 10, 2012, 9:20 pmFinally found the reason why Whatsapp is slow in getting notifications. Usually, I would ensure that in the background there are no tasks anymore. So, there'd just be the Tiles screen. But this is considered as "closing" the whatsapp application. Unlike in other phones (like my old 5800), this app won't fetch data if it's not available in the background. But hey, what's the harm in leaving it at the background. Not that it would hurt the OS. No Bluetooth File Transfer No File Manager/Browser No Mass-Storage (cannot access to the internal storage with PC -- without hack) Have to rely on Zune (same like iPhone rely on iTunes). It's important to let the customer knows first, rather than found out later and feel frustrated and in a way feeling cheated. There will be users who don't mind all those, just like iPhone. After 1 day of using this phone, I prefer 900 compare to 800 due to screen size 4.3". Battery life can't really tell yet cause just charge for once only
I think speaker is louder compare to Lumia 800 |

I wouldn't really say that it's tabbed view for your word docs. But once you have those files in the phone, you can only open one at a time. But it's not so bad, because pressing the Back button would prompt you to save it.Not sure on excel. I don't see sheets. Agreed on the IE part. But if i'm not mistaken, for IE's case, launching it from the Start screen opens up a new page. Then closing it would be a lot easier.
I need someone to verify tho. |

Yes. Once you have your facebook account logged into, you can link it. It is smart enough at times to give suggestions on the account in Facebook to link to your contact, so it is a little easy.
Shouldn't take long. I had 100 something people in my contacts and took me some good time looking at people and their details. Very fun even. |

QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Jun 13 2012, 04:01 PM) from the multi screen, just select and go into those apps that you want to close then hit return arrow to close. You do not need to close apps on Windows Phone.WP7 multitasking work differently from others, you have to remember how many level your apps opened. - 3rd party apps are all suspended when they're not being used, they do not consume CPU power. If an active app needs the memory the suspended apps are using their suspended state will then be deleted. So you really dont have to worry about background apps eating battery, cpu, etc. etc. - 1st party apps like people hub, IE are the ones that stay 'active' when they're not being used. But the timers and activities will usually stop when people are not actively using. Again, if the OS needs memory, then they'll be shut down and the memory reclaimed. Summary is, don't worry about the number of apps that show up when you hold the back button! |

QUOTE(foxxy @ Jun 15 2012, 04:13 PM) Hi aspire. Care to elaborate why the camera of 900 is better than 800 ? I thought both of them are using the same mechanism. I tested the camera perform much better at low light when my 800 have more visible noise. I believe it could be the upgraded firmware. The camera on 610 also improved alot. 800 at low light seems to be more challenging to takeThis post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Jun 15 2012, 07:37 PM |

Daym! Headphones and the portable charger. I may not be able to resist. Do update us on whether it's the first 100 or do all purchases get it.

Hey, for those who are going tomorrow, mind to share the prices for other lumia phones here after your visit? Seriously, they just offer Nokia Universal Portable USB Charger and Bluetoot headset with Nokia Lumia 800... They should at least give the monster headset (not the hd one) for free ==
Anyway, for those who are not interested in the free gifts, you might want to wait for few more weeks because there will be a PIKOM PC Fair at KLCC from 13 to 15 July. Last time, one forumer bought Lumia 800 with the monster headset at a RM 1399 during that pc fair. Btw, anyone knows the price for lumia 800 now? Thank you^^ This post has been edited by DavidWKW: Jun 17 2012, 06:12 PM |

Just got my Lumia 900 at the Gardens on Sunday. At first it was okay, now the speakers are no longer working, it only works sometimes when I press the area between the windows and search button. So annoying, bahhh

The Nokia store has screen protectors for RM 30 also. At first, I wouldn't recommend, but after seeing a very small scratch on the screen, I'd say go ahead.

That's the real reason for the delay of the Lumia 900.
I can't think of any other reasons really. They purposely delayed it just so they could sell a whole slew of accessories with it. And that's smart too, seeing as the local stores selling accessories won't have any because it wasn't released yet. haha. Smarta$$ Nokia Malaysia. |

How's the Nokia DC-16 work? Do you charge it before you charge your phone or it automatically charges your phone and never die?
Thank you |

Guys, i got my lumia 900 from lowyat too. The thing is they stick the zitron sticker at the back of the casing, and just beside the camera lens. That looks ugly! Can i just take it off! Will it void the warranty?

QUOTE(jsen58 @ Jun 19 2012, 07:46 PM) But i got my 930 today... in lowyat... >< Can post the sample photo?btw, I found my 900 a bit blurry for the picture that i capture... not sure is my skill or what... >< For L800, there is focusing issue where it tends to focus on background if the subject isn't big enough (even it's bigger than the focus box). Not sure about L900. You can check where it focus on, else possibility due to shake. |

Cool Tip:
For those who don't like to keep pressing the back button in IE but want to close it, find Tabs and close it there. Then one click on the Back button and you're back to the Start screen. hehe. Can't wait on the Windows Phone Summit! |

comparing s3 screen with nokia lumia 900, nokia lumia 900 has better screen, and the speaker in lumia 900 is louder than my s3. Build quality is far much better than s3.
Added on June 20, 2012, 8:51 pmnow if only nokia lumia support microSDXC till 64gb, and is wp8 upgradable, it would be sweet, I can leave android camp anytime soon. This post has been edited by Leo the Lion: Jun 20 2012, 08:51 PM |

My guess is that because they switched over to WinNT from WinCE, and also to allow the ability to safely update over the air. The current size for system firmware is probably inadequate to support such things.
That said, a lot of good will has been burned by this. We'll see how things turn out after this. Since for future devices MS has committed to supporting the device for 18 months after product release. |
