Reviews for Lumia 900 are out.
All reviews from Anandtech, Engadget and so many other review sites said the 900's camera is great and awesome but fanboi Joshua Topolsky from The Verge just gotta hate on it. |

All other reviews echo the same thought about Lumia 900's camera though - good, but not great. But only The Verge goes all the way to say that it's even worse than the Galaxy Nexus, famous for bad camera.
QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Apr 4 2012, 12:23 PM) Actually aside from the camera, I found the The Verge review to be pretty honest and I agree with many of the reviewer's points especially with regards to the Windows Phone software and ecosystem. I would say that that is partially true. I agree with most, if not all of the things he said about the problems with Windows Phone. But that's the problem, he only states the problem of the WP OS and didn't even bother to talk about the great stuff about it. Maybe he's just tired of repeating the same stuff after reviewing so many Windows Phone devices, then my suggestion is to have a completely separate review solely for the WP OS! Since they're all the same, right? There he can talk all day about its pros and cons, instead of dumping all the cons of WP on one review in the Lumia 900 and expect people to read reviews of other Windows Phones to get a sense what better features lies beneath! Such a huge website but fails when it comes to having a better review system. Even Engadget has a separate review for Sense 4.0, and directs users reading the reviews for One X, S and V to that separate review since Sense 4.0 is the same across all One devices. |

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Apr 5 2012, 10:09 AM) Yes the author was quite negative in the review, but he did mention that The Verge already talked about the great points of Windows Phone in previous reviews. I'm just glad he's honest enough to point out the flaws about WP, even though I know many people don't like to hear them. I feel that's just very irresponsible as a reviewer. Imagine a new user, see all the Lumia 900 ads, and want to read some reviews. So he goes to a 'reputable' site like The Verge and only see all the bad stuff about WP7. Since the person is a new and casual user, I doubt he will research further than that. The reviewer's act can be forgived if he would provide a simple link to previous WP7 reviews... but alas... |

QUOTE(phantomash @ Apr 5 2012, 07:58 PM) I'm sure you can make it as decent as what you have with the Lumia 800, with your skills. Perhaps I used words that are too strong. I meant that Galaxy Nexus' camera can't match up with modern, top-of-the-line smartphones, even to its previous Samsung phone, the SII. Decent camera nonetheless, of course. But just not the one that you'll be looking in such a high-end phone.I'm not saying that 900's camera is weak, just saying that Galaxy Nexus's camera isn't as bad as xcen thought, based on his quote "famous for bad camera." btw, xcen if you read closely, Josh did not say that 900's camera is worse than Galaxy Nexus, he's just disappointed by it, considering Nokia's history of terrific phone camera performance. "Now keep in mind, my daily driver is a Galaxy Nexus, which has a relatively poor camera — so this is significant. I went into the Lumia 900 expecting an excellent photo experience, but it's really simply mediocre." By comparing L900 with the Nexus, and then saying it is 'significant', I have the impression that he's saying that the Galaxy Nexus is better. He didn't explicitly state it though, I could read it wrongly. No reason for him to say it is 'significant' otherwise IMO. |

QUOTE(phantomash @ Apr 6 2012, 09:25 AM) I don't think he tried to compare Lumia 900's camera to Galaxy Nexus, but he's saying that considering Galaxy Nexus's camera is a "relatively poor camera", hence the camera aspect of a phone (in this case the Lumia 900) is significant to him. So he's expecting something great from the Lumia 900's camera, especially since Nokia has a great history of phone camera, and that Lumia 900 is touting Carl Zeiss lens. I don't interpret what he said that way because he's an experienced phone reviewer so he should be exposed to many other phones like the 4S with much better camera performance, so I don't think that he will find any phone camera difference significant, unless it is really significant. But that's up to different interpretation anyway. |

Malaysia logic:
1. Sirim sticker on iPhone 4/4s - no need. 2. Sirim sticker on Lumia - Let's put 2 of them there, right on the phone. |
