QUOTE(knight88 @ Jan 23 2012, 03:13 AM) Agree. Sound's like they gonna place an unreasonable price..it gives me 2nd thought to buy the car that I've dreamt for half yr.. maybe go for current civic before the 'big ass' launced.. In customer POV, no much ppl willing to take the risk to afford an Inokom with CBU's price.. their strategy might kill a lot of dreams.. If they choose to price it abt RM110k, the current Civic and 2.0 Mazda 3 already has some sales discounts, for almost same monthly repayments, don't you think most ppl will go for estb Jap brands? Civic gerenti ada resale value, why should I buy Elantra at this price? - This is the question ppl with ask the SD salesmen, what will be the answer?

No matter how hard the Koreans try, the Japanese will still have better reliability, resale value, and most importantly, brand image

QUOTE(Chongkor @ Jan 23 2012, 10:17 AM) The price is reasonable for RM110-RM115 for 1.8 Elantra, but Malaysian mindset when they made comparison there will be higher possibility for them to go for J car for the similar price. Btw i am not the business minded person, so maybe SD got their good strategy and marketing plan. I'll get it if OTR is <115k.. I won't spend >115k for CKD.. Civic 1.8 tsi =+/-118k Mazda2.0 =+/-120k Elantra1.8 =<110k It should be price less than 110k if compare to J car? Anyway, K car resale value is really hard to compromise Malaysian mindset.. many choices for tag of +/-110k. alot 1.6L to 2.0L fall into this range, elentra is just another contender.
but the second when it carries an inokom emblem, it became a poor contender... totally a brandname disaster!
just my 2cents
