Thanks for the input Blue! It seems so funny to me that only my Internet services are affected. Yesterday I was able to watch HyppTV with no probs but cant connect to the net at all. TM has just SMS'd me that they are escalating the case tot eh technical team so I'll wait for them to poke around and see whats wrong.

How do I go about claiming rebates for the days when my Net was down? Just send them an email and cc aduansksm?

Just call and sprak to the billing dept and ask them to check your tickets. Or call customer service and get them to pass your info to billing dept

841ND + DIR615
RT-N13U
1043ND
Overall, if you're using stock firmware, RT-N13U has more features. Print server, its QOS and the built-in download master. Just depends on your budget and whether you need those features. TP-link routers has less features to play with. Btw, you should do research whether 1043ND supports printer sharing on default firmware. I'm not quite sure after a few googling. It's a capable router I would say, even better if flashed with DDWRT or something similar. Btw, 1043ND has gigabit. Whether you need it or not, it's up to your decision. If I'm not wrong, 1043ND is still cheaper than the N13U.

Summary
i) Need built in download master for FTP/HTTP/BT and Asus QoS feature? Get N13U
ii) Best bang for buck?? 841ND+DIR615. I'm using this setup. So far so good. Simple setup too.
iii) If you need Gigabit, 1043ND should be very fun to play with and it's priced between i) and ii) But you must check whether its stock firmware allows you to do printer sharing (I think it should, else the USB port is quite useless  tongue.gif )

Btw, something to share~~

Quite insane mod done on 1043ND... RAM and USB Hub

Thanks IwanAGP, so you are using 841ND+DR615, pls let me know your setup.
For ASUS RT-N13u-B1 is it true that we can use it off the shelf without updating the firmware? But N13U printers support is quite limited and my printer is not in the list, if not I would have chosen the N13U.

I bought it from Cycom and the unifi firmware was flashed by them at no charge. check first before buying. IIRC right now only Cycom is selling custom Unifi flashed router

I am wondering instead of using the router to login to unifi, can we use the modem (Huawei) to do it instead?

If im not mistaken you can create a dialer and do it. Too much of hassle.

Erm... You can search for klseet post earlier this thread. He is the one who told me what to do.

Anyway, basically, you get your 841ND completely setup (means you can online and watch IPTV). Next, log into DIR615 web UI, disable DHCP and firewall and maybe the wifi since you'll be using 841ND's wifi. Reboot it for the settings to take effect. Lastly, connect using LAN Cable, LAN1 on DIR615 to LAN1 on 841ND.
To use your printer, connect your printer to the USB port on DIR615. Search for "SharePort" software from D-link website. Install it and you can now view your printer through the software. Click at your printer and choose connect. Thumbdrives work the same way. I'm not sure which model is not supported by the software though. I'm using Canon MP258 FYI.

Paging ' rattan '
If there's free one month(i'm not sure whether it's still available) and free installation, the first bill to you will only consist of prorated fee for the month of installation and RM10 stamp duty.
Else, installation fee is RM200 divided across 5 months and the advance payment for second month. Rattan shoudl clarify you on this laugh.gif

Yes. It's possible. Refer unifi.athena.my . There's a simple program made to handle the vlan tagging on your computer posted there. However, the program is not 100% working all the time. You'll get disconnection very frequently. It's just for debugging. Anyway, credit to rizvanrp, he's the programmer for that program. Btw, someone ever posted that he/she is exploring the BTU. The original BTU should be capable of handling the vlan tagging and dialer but TM reprogrammed the thing that it acts just as a bridge and to handle VoIP. I'm just telling what I know. Just a reference.

Do a Ping Test & Speed Test. Make sure you choose a Server based in Malaysia. What are the results?

Also do a ping to your default gateway (router IP). In average how many milliseconds?
