After about 5 days of usage, I notice some bugs for my Nokia N9, let me list down in summary first
-MfE issue
-Feed screen issue
-FB & Google talk issue
-Poor Wifi issue
-Video Playback issue
-No Msn/YM connectivity and Lack of whatsapp which probably will never happen (personal pet peeves)

The MfE issue is related to “Can’t connect to server” error, I already highlighted to a guy who works in Nokia on MfE client for N9 regarding the sync issue. Basically it will show the error after you initiated first sync. I would need to toggle Non-provisional device off only be able to initiate the subsequent sync and toggle the option on again to initiate another sync. So it would be extremely fiddling everytime I want to sync my Microsoft exchange account.

Feed screen issue. I notice that feed screen can’t be set to update manually, even if I set it to be manually updating, it will still update once every 1 hour. I also find it generally annoying that feed screen would auto scroll to top everytime I switch to another home screen and switch back. I would like to stay where I am reading. Another thing is (though not bug), is the inability to filter through feeds. I have lots feeds and would love to filter them sometimes, the feature is unavailable.

FB and Google talk always give me password incorrect error when I first try to connect, it will only work after 2nd and sometime 3rd attempt to connect. Another google talk issue is that, it’s not able to detect Nimbuzz or 3rd party app that supports voice call for google talk as available to voice talk. Thus can’t initiate call though can still receive call from them.

One more thing, the reception for wifi is quite poor. Hardware limitation I guess but gsm and 3G reception is phenomenal, I guess there is a trade off.

I’ve not tried mkv video yet but I tried one thing I’ve never expect it to fail. Videos from N8!! I transferred the videos taken by N8 (using the beta camera app which supports 30fps video shooting) and it will not play smoothly, it just stutters all the time. Videos of 25fps from N8 plays without problem though.

And I am still looking for ways to connect to MSN and YM, my 3rd largest friend’s list after whatsapp and fb chat.
*Speaking of whatsapp, [rant mode] I know what I am getting into, in fact I am still keeping my n97 mini for whatsapp but I can’t help feeling a bit restricted without it. Speaking of which, I kept bombarded by friends on FB for switching over without whatsapp. They are nasty bunch, I am telling you[/rant mode]

By the way, any N9 gathering? I secretly need to plot for the unlocking of NFC level for my angry bird so that I can keep on playing after being stuck with on 5 levels. HEHE

Try those non HD version see how. HD version surely impossible one. Even the author of VLC remark that there is no HARDWARE VIDEO ACCELERATION for playback, just enabled for some sort of things which really do not matters much. He went on to say High Definition video definitely a problem.

Most of the videos I downloaded are non HD anyway. Streamyx is like slowyx sometimes, if want to wait to download 1GB+, can pengsan.
I did read in my Nokia Blog that certain 720p formats can play, someone tested.

After one week, my N9 WiFi is already OK. Last week browser will take 5 minutes just to open google. Now very fast already. Does it need to warm up first? hmm.gif

Anyone having issues where an email you have deleted on your phone is no more shown in your inbox (which is good) but in your actual inbox (via computer), it is still there? This is Gmail.

could it be cause of the gmail client has yet to sync with the account due to internet problem?

Nop, I've made sure that there is no failed transfer. After I've deleted the email, I still receive new emails and I believe that the deleted email should be synced to the server at that point.

To make sure that it is not a sync issue, I even waited for 1 hour but it is still there.

Now I wonder, is it set to POP3 by default? So if I want to set it to IMAP, I have to select other email and manually set up my email hmm.gif

Added on October 17, 2011, 1:40 pmOk. Found out that it is going to deleted items folder. So I need to go there and delete all the messages again so that it is deleted in the server as well.

Could be your unifi or Streamyx was slow but now back to normal? But this problem will be solved with the next os upgrade so it's not a hardware issue.

Quite true. I normally avoid downloading HD movies as it's a pain with our so-called broadband speed. They can be 4-5GB. On a small phone screen it's an overkill anyway.

so far the problems i met with n9 are:

1. Facebook apps not stable as east crash.

2. Can't check in with fb.

3. Can't update my status in Availability.

4. i can't search my email. (din found search in mail)

5. doesnt have push notification for fb.

i hope can put the lightness bar into the status bar ( i mean when we tap on the top bar , so that we can easily adjust the lightness)
and also the bluetooth can just easily turn on from there instead of tap and go into the bluetooth settings.

i found that the speaker not so loud , i hardly hear what my friends saying in the phone....

You can bring bugs to Nokia's Meego development team working on the os upgrade here.

Who knows, it may get the irritating bugs that affect you resolved faster.

Get the app Gps meefo from ovi store and use it to get a lock first. Some apps are not very good at getting a lock. How long did you wait? If it is connected to wi-fi or 3G it should be very fast ~15 sec or less. Make sure you have enabled "Mobile data connection" in Settings/Device/GPS and Positioning.

I've enable both and the GPS seem can't connect. Tested the GPS Meefo, no luck. Searching for satellite for an hour now. :S

Go to the file, right click, choose properties, then details. Can see, frame height, width, bit rate, frame per second.
If you are downloading from websites, they have the descriptions :
720p H264 avi, 720p X264 mkv, 720 p rmvb
divx is xvid

Nowadays, they have full description, with like 4 to 5 versions for same series/movie, easier for downloader to choose which is compatible :" CSI New York S08E04 HDTV 720p X264-DIMENSION
HD 720P | English | 42 Mins | h264 @ 3739 kb/s | 1280x720 23fps | AC3 448Kbps 48Khz | 1.09 Gb ohmy.gif
Genre: Action | Crime | Drama | Mystery | Thriller

But how do we know it is the baseline type which N9 plays?

Yeah, my unifi was also downloading at <10kBps last week.

Make sure you aren't connected to USB because you can't get a lock when connected. Assuming you aren't it could be a problem with your GPS sensor. Try in the open for 5 mins and it fails it may mean a trip to Nokia Care.
