QUOTE(andrekua @ Oct 16 2011, 11:51 PM) Dunno, havent seen anyone with N9 comment that they got try & it work, meaning havent read anybody got even try. Email the developer & ask him/her. I go see the maemo forum if there's a thread on this. I think the N900 users here know better to get round the program, it looks complicated to a non technie like meBtw, I thought you return the N9 liao? It's actually the old sim card/iPhone 4's simcard that transfered into it.Added on October 16, 2011, 11:53 pm Why are you so excited? Many of us who complain are using original micro sim as well. Wasted my time for nothing... still the same crappy playback with HD MP4...
If you are interested to try, here's how... 1. Download the mentioned deb files 2. Install a file manager 3. Allow installation of non store app 4. Developer mode on First, run the file manager and locate where you store them. Then launch Terminal. Enable superuser by "devel-su" and then enter password "rootme". Then you need to go to the directory where you store those deb files. The first one will be "CD /home". Subsequent CD does not require "/" before the directory name. Your file manager will provide a clue for the full file path. Once there just execute the given command dpkg -i bla bla bla and there ya go... HD content still no go... wasting my time... |

QUOTE(eaglehelang @ Oct 17 2011, 01:24 AM) Try those non HD version see how. HD version surely impossible one. Even the author of VLC remark that there is no HARDWARE VIDEO ACCELERATION for playback, just enabled for some sort of things which really do not matters much. He went on to say High Definition video definitely a problem.Added on October 17, 2011, 7:33 am QUOTE(Upsilon @ Oct 17 2011, 01:30 AM) I already post that ages ago...This post has been edited by andrekua: Oct 17 2011, 07:33 AM |

He went on to say High Definition video definitely a problem. Looks like Nokia pulled a fast one on us. How can the video hardware of N9 be worse than N8, a one year old phone? Anyway, what to do? Just convert your movies. To be frank HD on a small phone screen isn't all that different from non-HD.But the official Nokia specs say HD 720p video playback. So how? Class action suit? http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/devi.../specifications This post has been edited by KennyKB: Oct 17 2011, 08:36 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Oct 17 2011, 07:39 AM) For those who are not aware it can lead to a lot of unnecessary chasing around and time out in the repair shop so it's good that Joshua publish this information. |
