QUOTE(ViRaViRa @ Oct 18 2011, 11:52 AM) http://n9-apps.com/That is the link where you can register with your email and get latest update and apps in the future. I seriously doubt they are going to launch. That page already there for months and their original intention was to launch when N9 starts shipping. Now send them twitter also no reply.

Not Nokia hater, just that Nokia's image is a little staid, not for young and trendy now. It's like those who won't be caught driving a Volvo. This will actually work against Nokia's WP7 phones succeeding. Nokia is delusional if it thinks their brand name will give WP7 platform a boost.

QUOTE(sklchan @ Oct 18 2011, 12:09 PM) LOL... what?? ur friends been cheated by nokia b4 huh??? they all seem "hate by brand" LOL... I thought it' already well known? Not something new; Most people I know already anti-Nokia, say got new phone, ask what brand, Nokia, then not interested or don't even wanna know. Only those that still stick to Nokia will still buy Nokia. Those that previous switch to SE for reasons like camera or speaker/sound, still thinks the same to Nokia. That's why, it's important not to give bad impression or experience; It's very hard to recover and win back people's trust/impression/etc. And their expectation will be higher and easily annoyed with small mistakes because of past experience and impression. (e.g. if you like something, you can forgive and forget or accept some minor problems/mistake; but if you already don't like/hate something, even some simple mistake, you may be very annoyed and seems like a big problem).

To those who interested to to connect to MSN and YM please follow the following guide, I already did it. It worked! But you have to enable developer's mode first and gain access to Terminal, also you need to have software like Gajim on your computer to activate the service for MSN and YM for your Jabber account. This is to setup Jabber account for you to connect to MSN and YM http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1049366&postcount=12This is for you to manually insert Jabber account into the N9, needs terminal access http://wiki.meego.com/Migrating_from_N900_...e_account_setupTS please insert this to the beginning of the page. Sure I will say samsung is cheap plastic cos I dont have good experience with samsung's product durability. Wah, like that I must 'old school'. My friends all use E or C series. My customers use variety, but still have a nokia qwerty and a full touchscreen android This post has been edited by eaglehelang: Oct 18 2011, 02:07 PM

MeeGo was the promised child of 2 years ago, I followed the Qt migration path strategy for Symbian to MeeGo/Maemo. It was the best strategy and I believed to its vision of total integration across the devices in our daily lives, then came February 2011. Everything changed.
The reason I bought N9 no longer valid to my original believes. I buy just for the sake of owning this extinct beast. It was rather emotional purchase than a sensible one.

It's not all gloom & doom in the mass market. For full touchscreen phones yes, samsung, htc, SE is popular. SE is still trusted brand for walkman & camera. If qwerty phones, it's still nokia for 'branded' model. Thia includes youngsters. If cheapo one, they buy CSL or china brand.

Nokia's image was dented because it failed to produce innovative phones which excite users. CPU, memory and display were behind the competition. The Symbian os was considered a dog. No wonder it lost market share. Then Nokia finally did something right with the N9. Hardware was in the ballpark. It was sleek and attractive, like a breath of fresh air in a world of round cornered phone. The Meego os with innovative swipe technology excited users and won accolades.
Nokia should have taken this success and run with it but unfortunately the CEO Elop decided to beat down the mass market appeal of the N9 by stiff pricing, omission of major markets and death pronouncement of the last Meego phone. Meanwhile he wound down Symbian and bet the farm on WP7.
If Nokia's WP7 phones doesn't take off with a bang Nokia will go down with it. All the eggs are now in one basket. But WP7's has never caught on. It's market share is a mere few percent. Last year it even managed to lose market share while Android and ios surged. Iphone 4S has been launched with rave customer response, a new version of Android will soon be released and Nokia is late to the party.
Nokia is shaping up to be a Greek tragedy. A tragedy is something you inflict on yourself. Maybe one day Elop will be a textbook case study in business school of how to bring down a corporation.
