Received my Dell U2412M 1 week and 1 day after ordering!
I think the price is really value for money now: Got it for RM830 including 5 years warranty.
Totally perfect condition so far as I can be certain of, 0 dead pixels, so really happy with it =]

Looks bad. That must be a careless mistake got away from QC inspection.

Dell is know for selling refurbed stuffs according to my close friends. Once u rejected their goods it will become ARB set and they will resell to their staffs at dirt cheap price abd this staffs & later u can see it at our garage sales lol

I think u should call up Dell asap.

Seconded. That is a bad deal. No 1080p, no USB ports, no swivel nor rotation, and an ugly stand and bezel. How are they even selling it at RM830?

Guys. I'm thinking of ditching my >6 year old ( ohmy.gif ) 4:3 monitor and joining the HD standard crowd.
However, are there any incoming new improvements to the LCD-LED monitor field that I should wait out for (except 3D since I have no interest in halving frame rates)?

Er. Not really focusing on specific models or manufacturers. More on technologies coming on production line. Why, got difference?

GPU currently 5770, but might ratchet up to 6950 (no CF).

Added on October 12, 2011, 7:41 pmOh! I should probably add that I'm going for a single monitor setup, so have no need for IPS (and not having many people crowding to see the monitor, really).

IPS has its advantage and not just viewing angle, colour reproduction wise is way better than the limited TN, especially the grey area and to benefit from the viewing angle you'll see good colour balance through the screen even with a little tilt, especially when you move your head a little to the right or left, you'll see a little contrast/brightness shift from TN but not IPS, this is another advantage of the wide viewing angle, not just for "plenty of people" purpose.
Aside from that, Dell's unit provide full IPS premium functionality such as the "super" leg, of which you can turn your widescreen into portrait mode which enable you to read a whole page without scrolling and able to adjust the monitor height according to your comfort, and also the extra USB hub making life even much convenient, don't you think so? whistling.gif

Anyway, my explanation just for your information, which many of the Ultrasharp users would also seeing this advantage when they deciding on value monitors to choose from, and if you still finds it not up to your taste or you don't need all those advantage/functions then by all means there's plenty of monitor out there. Example would be LG, Samsung (which I won't really recommend unless no choices left), AOC (cheap, value), etc. All of them are pretty much the same, you just need to look at the size, price and the functionality, and decide.

1080p refer to the height, and the resolution is 1920x1080, so the monitor that you looking at is not 1080p.

agree on this, IPS or above is a must for LCD. No regret since upgrade from 17" CRT to U2311H..hehe
