It is good news that the input lag is low. Hopefully it isn't some kind of fluke.

LG IPS236V VS U2311 VS U2312HM
Which would you guys choose..
BTW, I need 2 for multi monitor setup

U2311HM or U2311H over IPS236V. The Dell has 4 USB 2.0 ports on the monitor. Very convenient if your rig is not as easily accessible or you could use the extra USB ports. They can power external HDDs.

I currently use the U2312HM at work and U2412M at home. My eyes prefer the 16:10 aspect ratio from the U2412M. The 16:9 ratio looks a little short and wide.

Other than that and the USB ports I had mentioned? The ips236v has an ugly bezel that is not suitable for multiple monitor gaming. For multiple monitor gaming, the last thing you want is for the bezel to stand out. Plain and forgettable are key, unless you can find monitors with practically no bezel or no bezel (!), which would trump everything else.

No, it doesn't. I game and spend extra to acquire 1080p movies, and I find 8ms displays (U2311H, U2410, U2412M) satisfactory.

No. I haven't seen it for myself and I doubt I ever will. And there are a lot of fellow forumers who bought them and haven't noticed any ghosting. I actually don't recall if there was a noticeable ghosting report.

Considering your expensive gaming rig, you'll be doing it a serious disservice by skimping on the monitor. My friend's old gaming rig with lousy specs has at least a 23" U2311H. And my own lousier desktop with an AMD Phenom II X3 710 and a HD 5670 has a U2410 and a U2412M.

I suggest you man up and get yourself a sweet U2412M, RM799 (if the RM100 coupon is still available) and then enjoy gaming on your powerful machine with a sweet monitor.

I'm sorry, I have no idea. Unfortunately TFTCentral and AnandTech does not have any data on the IPS236V. You could try googling for any articles that compares its calibration report with the other displays.

On pricing, it is RM629 at Viewnet.

I wonder if the reporting was correctly worded or not, as they were producing IPS panels for a long time already.

Well, on rereading it, that article is still poorly written, with random ideas from all over the place. For one, it talks about LG producing a new IPS series. For another, it talks about the gains they get by replacing TN with IPS. Why bring up TN if this IPS5 is a successor to IPS1 and IPS6? Wait a minute, IPS6? Why are they introducing IPS5 and calling it new?

This new series comes as the successor of the previous IPS1 and IPS6 display lineup
