Guys. I'm thinking of ditching my >6 year old ( ohmy.gif ) 4:3 monitor and joining the HD standard crowd.
However, are there any incoming new improvements to the LCD-LED monitor field that I should wait out for (except 3D since I have no interest in halving frame rates)?

Er. Not really focusing on specific models or manufacturers. More on technologies coming on production line. Why, got difference?

GPU currently 5770, but might ratchet up to 6950 (no CF).

Samsung (which I won't really recommend unless no choices left)

What about Samsung's touted Super-PLS? Should we believe the hype of it displacing IPS?

should one wait for TouchScreen display to go mainstream?

touchscreen for desktop use seems counter-intuitive. I long for the time when WACOM-like pressure sensitivities reach 'tablet' computing. Then we'll see the end of paper legal pads and what not.
