Yeah Perth is a nice place to stay. My colleague is staying there and he has a 2 acre land around his house. He reared chickens, ponies and sheep. What a relaxing life style.

But in terms of job opportunities, Perth is little bit tougher to get a job, unless you are in the mining sector. Having said that, mining sector recently is showing declining signs. Hopefully things all fall into place.

I think based on my personal experience and perception, i'm pretty tired with city life especially in KL. I've enough with the hectic work and traffic.
Perth i think is just nice as got everything and city is not too big & not too small. i'm from a small kampung too.
We just want a simple life and do what ever things i want to do.
PErth is an ideal place for raising family. Been to other cities before but i still have perception perth is the right place.

I think getting a pr is very hard for me since I'm not study there but I plan to go for whv(working holuday visa) which can stay there up to 12 month. But what kind job is most suitable for it and is it can cover my expenses including accommodation. And is there money left for backpack since this is working holiday.

Well, adelaide is very ulu. i dun think i could stand that. tongue.gif
Perth is a young city, i think there's lots of opportunities there.
If i choose sydney or melbourne, wat's the difference if i stay in KL and why i spend so much money and time for the visa? sad.gif

study there only contribute 5 points.
check ur occupation in CSL. if it's high demand, even with local U degree, u still got the chance.
I have a fren study in UUM major in accounting. She don't even step into Oz before. She got PR last year and work in Big 4 there.
If u got the skills they want, i don't see any reason why they dont give opportunity since the door is open.
I know it's hard, but you dun try you never know.
I remember 10years ago i intend to apply PR. I walked into Oz high com in jalan Yap kwanseng getting the form. A lady sitting beside corner telling me if u apply offshore u won't get ur PR. I dunno who she is or anyone just pouring cold water or discouraging word without any fact, i gonna screw them upside down.

i planning to move oz in my mid 20's, it means between 2-3 years from now.
i go through the point system, i could pass 60
but my big concern is my skill is not in SOL. i graduate n work in media, i dun think so it will be listed in SOL ever!
i aware that the PR rule keep changing every year,
but is there anything i could do now to prepare?

i dun mind to work in any field and will not be too picky at first few years..
do u think i should pick some new skill like acounting or other on-demand skill?

i love countryside life, more natural places around
for long term, oz will be great i guess

Last time called critical skilled list. Now is SOL (skill occupational list).

Please follow these websites which might help u more understanding on your intention to apply:-
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf (how it works)
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1.pdf (check ur occupation)
http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/

i found that current DIAC (Dept of immigration and cultural) has the full sovereignty to decide who should come in or who should not. You need to submit letter of intent and wait them to issue you the letter of invitation. Once received, then only you could proceed to next step.
It's totally different from my last year application whereby if i meet the requirement points and just 'hentam' in, then they'll process for me.
But dun give up, you never knew. Do more research and see any alternative visa to support.

If you got time, can DIY. if not, you'll burn some cash for agents.
Beware of agents, always checked are they registered with MARA. So many fraud cases flying around in malaysia. i read newspaper 2 mths ago on some dudes paying loads of cash to work in Oz and end up it's a total set up. I even heard some1 telling me that he knew someone in DIAC and can help to get VISA. Oz is really strict in this so do some research and homework before apply. I read DIAC websites every page to understand how it works and the best way to get visa.
If you have any queries, can come below forum which i gain most of the info internationally. They're the same situation as ours.

www.australiaforum.com

You'll find loads of info and most of them DIY.
If you have any queries just ask, even it's a simple question coz i always ask stupid question but won't make me stupid forever.... tongue.gif

as below, you need to get through SkillSelect now and they will look at all applications and choose the highest point first. they will issue an invitation twice a month

If I may be so blunt, ideally you'd want to have a competent language skills before you flew over. All those I's without connecting verbs aren't going to fly well with the locals. Best to practice it here and now so you may get used to constructing proper sentences. It's sad when Malaysians go to another country and get treated like Tuong Lu Kim on South Park.

Better check SOL, check any job relation to your current occupation. If go through education route, you may burn cash and time to get a degree which i think not quite right. Put this in last.
Check any other alternative visa. If really so die hard want to go Oz, there's 1, married an Oz guy/girl or PR guy/girl then wallah....here's your PMV (partner marriage visa).

Start studying nursing
Once you graduated (from an ok uni) with some exp you will be guaranteed a job and PR.

Otherwise even if you can somehow obtain a PR, your chances of obtaining a job is pretty slim.
The unemployment rate is high in Aus vis-a-vis M'sia and there are stiff competition.

I agree. now i feel like swimming in the ocean try to grab anything for survival.
HAve to compete internationally and a little bit of luck. It aint easy, if no choice, look for casual work 1st. at least could pay my bills and rent.
Nursing is always in highest demand. I remember a lady from thailand i knew she earn big salary there.

My 2c worth is 2 do it ASAP...dont like wait til u 30 or so. Older u get harder it is 2 settle down....

I think picking a new skill is great. Better if is recognised by Oz otherwise have to accredit again locally.

Country side life is great but most jobs in cities. Biggest number of jobs = Sydney.

Think main advantages of Oz inc.
- no traffic jam
- good work life balance
- little or no govt discrimination
- interest free & cheap education for kids
- a good net for sick people

Melb now got Pappa Rich alredi. So quite civilised. tongue.gif
