IMHO - after a bout of fear, any spark of light may lead to irrational hopes. It doesnt mean that the causation of the fear has been resolved or that the sadness may end right there. Then again, human exuberance and short memory may triumph over an oncoming train as "the market" movements are usually made up of human emotions tongue.gif

I am holding PDSF, but its losing money.... sad.gif

What do u think about RHB Islamic bond fund ?  Wan to invest in Non public  mutual fund too...
*
You are losing money because you your avr NAV is higher than the current NAV. Market has been beaten down, and since the beta of PDSF is 0.80 of KLSE100 benchmark, it's NAV will surely be low at this moment in time.

You cannot compare PDSF with RHB I-Bond. You must compare apple with apple and orange with orange.

100% agree with u, the fundamental in western countries are still weak, and it will affects the exporting countries like in Asia. Most of the Asia's export counterparts are these western countries. When West is weak, Asia can't escaped. Many ppl have the wrong concept and expectation investing in mutual funds. You can't in and out as service charge will cost u a bomb. Once u invested in mutual fund, let it stay there and review it every month or quarter only, u don't hv to check the mkt every hour or everydays.

Is it ? ... I thought the "green" coloured fund prize this few days ... could be early sign of "bullish" ... after 2 months of dropping NAV ... sad.gif ...
What you mean by technical rebound ? ....

bro - usually "bullish" dont follow "bearish" nose-to-butt leh. There is a "cooling off" period after a bear attack where the market just flat-lines, not JUMP or BOUNCE up.

Technical rebound or dead cat bounce, your choice. Dead cat bounce is more vivid and descriptive & easier to understand IMHO tongue.gif.
Just a thought

First from distribution effect. Second comes from global equity sell down.

Many investors get excited when P Small Cap reopened, and dump in lots of money and get caught. Timing is very important in investment.
When the fund was re-opened, market is at its peak, almost approaching historical height of 1500 point,

i have already adviced the forumer around 1 month ago that PB Fixed Income fund is about to reach its approved limit, and it is going to close very soon. The 6-8% is not guaranteed, what i am sure that it pays better than FD rate and EPF, some bond funds pays higher than ASW/ASM/AS1M.

Sorry I'm not agent and I only quoted that from PM website.

Maybe the info is a little stale.

When a fund reopen, it means the market is turning bad and people are selling, therefore freeing up lots more capacity for other people to buy in.

If you don't intend to buy at high price at 1300+ (which is still considered high price), you can just buy little of it, say RM1k, when the market goes lower, you can buy more. When market goes lower and the fund closes again, at least you have got an account there and you wouldn't miss the chance.

That's my plan lar, maybe not suitable to you. Just sharing only. smile.gif
