i have already adviced the forumer around 1 month ago that PB Fixed Income fund is about to reach its approved limit, and it is going to close very soon. The 6-8% is not guaranteed, what i am sure that it pays better than FD rate and EPF, some bond funds pays higher than ASW/ASM/AS1M.

The answers are at http://my.morningstar.com
But the things is most of the good performance bonds are fully subsribed. You can use the search tool in morningstar to find the next best bond funds.

For me, PIX seem more interesting than SMALLCAP,
PIX for shorterm while SMALLCAP for long term.
Maybe this wednesday a good time to inject some hmm.gif

I buy PIX with EPF, PSMALLCAP with cash, both are attractive depending on your investment profile.

I m holding PDSF (Dividend select fund) - average cost RM 0.32, losing money. (around 10%). Now, less than RM 0.26

So, I plan to switch it to Bond. Then, when the market drop (undervalued), I only buy back equity...... So, no charge for 5.5% if buy back equity, RIGHT ?

Is my idea work ??

I do not have much $$ to average the cost.

Because I pay lump sum in the PDSF. (RM 0.32)

Yes your costing is correct - pls remember to add the SWITCHING charges to it yar.

Your idea works or not is another Q.
Since U lump sum / sai lang and not doing consistent periodic investment via DCA or VCA:
If U switched to Bonds already
1. When will U get back into Equity? What's your entry rule?

2. What if after U re-enter, it keeps falling?
a. Fall by XX% - what will U do?
b. Fall by YY % - what will U do?

3. What if it goes up and keeps going up?
a. Climbs by ZZ% - what will U do?
b. Climbs by AA% - what will U do?

4. What if it neither reaches a drop OR climb % of the above for ? years?

U've got a good idea - but it's incomplete, thus U need to further refine it, ESPECIALLY when U are just doing lump sum. Those of us doing periodic DCA / VCA has risk management spread out via time. Your's is via entry & exit rules only
Just a thought.

actually, I just DCA last week. (about 10% of the TOTAL VALUE) I just don't wan to Dollar cost average anymore since I need to PUMP more & more $$ into it.

( I don't have that much $$ to average the PEAK PRICE to 30% or less of TOTAL VALUE ) And it eventually DROPPING & DROPPING. ( I guess the market will drop)

Frankly, this is just a PLAN.

I may only switch back when it is at lowest point & recovering, ie. KLSE 900 points or 800 points (WHICH I no need to PUMP in more $$ at least for the time being).

I expect it won't drop below 800 points gua ....

I can hold it for a while, I think...

I just bought PFES today with cash & PISTF with EPF, hope the closing prices today drops then shoot up after 2moro smile.gif My target is to sell both funds when PFES reaches 0.3000 & PISTF reaches 0.3300 and hopefully is within 1 year smile.gif If cannot then 2 years as long as the return is better than FD & EPF's dividend. My last investment were PISTF & PISSF with EPF, both earned about 50% in 2 years, so average 25% per year, sold in Jan this year, very good return. Hope these 2 new investment can earn some extra interest for me, wish me good luck smile.gif

What would be the price if I buy today?

http://www.publicmutual.com.my/application.../fundprice.aspx

From the link above, let's say PDSF price is 0.2598 at 30 Sept, If I buy today, will the price follow the website or today's closing price?

Read it over and over again, hopefully get some inside look on current economy;
CODE

As at 30th September 2011, the local stock

16.7x. The local market is also supported
by a gross dividend yield of 4.1%, which
exceeds the 10-year average of 3.6% and

I have a question:

I intend to use the Bond portion like FD as a emergency fund. My question is, does the low load funds have the 90 days stay period or can I take out if emergency dictates? without inccuring the 0.75% penalty charges?

I do believe that penalty charge only apply for switching, not repurchase.

I believe no exit fee or penalty for repurchase since the SC they charged is relatively high.

If it's as low as 2% like fundsupermart, they'll impose exit fee if you repurchahse/sell within 90 days.
