Bro, how did you do that? Roll down all thw way from Genting? Hehehehehe...

Ok on serious note, I am not sure if the indicator is 100% accurate. In Kl driving I get about 620KM for RM55 with another 100 plus km to go.

Today, I was trying my best to go above 25km/l and it just refuse to go up easily but once I reach Sg besi High way and MRR2 I drove like normal cars with many blue speedo but it quickly reach 25.4KM/l. Maybe, quick accelaration and go easy on the gsd pedal saves more fuel than gradual acceleration. I read something to the same effect in some hypermiling article.

Here is my screen for the three stops.

i'm comparing the quality of the material from my opinion... this is free country, free speech..

not to say to insult the insight owners here, but the meter should be not like 'sticker' meter on the tachometer... maybe upgrade to LCD panel screen meter alike...

everyone has their own opinion about this car - for me, i'm very happy with the meter. judging from the response of other bros here, seems like most are happy with their car dash/meter console.

Achieved 25km/l on city driving with Ron 95. Perfect condition, all traffic lights turns green just as I get to it.. Yeah one of those days where everything is perfect biggrin.gif

Average, realistic figure is, city+highway, 20km/l is definitely achievable.

Naughty a bit, and I'm still getting avg of 19.5km/l

To Chan.
Short answer, u can say your fuel savings will at least ngam ngam cover ur battery cost, if unfotunately, u need a full replacement. (worst case scenario) Chances are, you won't and u'll need +ve in the end.. maybe not much to make it a 'significant' money making scenario.

Long answer.
Compare other things... Forte... no comment la, really good car for the price. If they have Forte hybrid with d tax exemption, I'll sure get!!!
But, it's korean car (perceived low resale value), and i dun fancy the design.
Heck, before I buy mine, I was waiting for the new Avante... but they din bring in fast enough, still not bring in now... :/

But if u compare with t/h u'll get a nice car for the most bang of your bucks.

Summary
FC Battery replacement cancels each other. (At 1.90 per liter) At more than that, or u're a 97 user, u'll net gain

Your 10k extra vs city, vios.
> Fully imported frm japan
> Safety features, vsa as mentioned
> Cruise control
> Auto wiper/lights.. fancy things only..
> When you close your car door, you get the very reassuring 'THUD' instead of even my friend's altis which feels light, vios city... uhm not much comment on those... havent been in one lately for a while
> NICE DASHBOARD!! Colourful, definitely something u'll come to miss when you drive another car after this.
> Good, sound system
> Steering control buttons, which entry civic also dont have.
> Glasses have built in heat reduction feature, u can save some on the tints... go with lower ratings.

Other intangible/negligible/spiritual benefits,
Regenerative braking... less need for physical braking, prolong life of ur braking system/no need replace so frequent?
Saving the world~ biggrin.gif
Added ++Turns you into a hypermiller, prolongs ur tires life

Balance it out with some negative comments.
No autolock
Autolight can be a CON too... if u care about offing lights before u start car engine. Leaving it in auto, will lights up before u hit ignition
Rear headroom. Rear passenger headroom, spotty.. 6 feeters will have uncomfortable ride. Made in japan car, intended for japanese sizes? biggrin.gif
Middle seat not for 5.7/8 feeters.
Back view can be funny/obstructed, with the beam blocking (the facelift version improved this a bit)
Auto stop, can be annoying, if it goes into autostop, just at the precise time u want to move, you'll get a jerk as it stops, and immediately restarts.
Some comments from other ppl, who say auto stop and on the air cond, put extra strain on the Air Cond... as it stops, and on and stop and on, higher risk of spoilt/failure

bro.. nice comment here and thx for these all. u know u r poisioning me and i just can't wait for test drive thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Actually, I'm interested in a real world numbers from the other cars, in start stop situations too.
Remember the old honda city?
They claim to get 25++ km/l last time, with their trip from X to genting....

The FC thread in LY, not properly structured, and no one gathers the info to sum in main page....
And the ppl there are posting in a lot of different formats.. instead of the std km/l.... to make comparison easier

sound great and again thanksss... in summary, this car rock when we just take below consideration,
- future gas price
- more cheaper battery price after 5 yrs (who know it cost less when more n more hybrid car get into our market and malaysian start reliazing the need of this tech tongue.gif )
- who may traveling all the time (the more you spent the more you earn drool.gif haha)
- green the world and safe your child future rclxms.gif
- mayb more subsidies from gov soon by encouraging citizen use hybrid car
- wat else hmm.gif

30+ is not impossible but not all the time.... Go highway drive 70-80 constant.. U will get ur 30+... Under NORMAL driving, realistically 18-20.. Far more importantly is enjoy driving the car.... It's very stressful to keep tab on the blue/green meter... Lol...

Its was a cold night, i didnt turn on the aircond. Around 10 km journey coming back from town. Engine warmed and just nice. Free flowing traffic without any stops. Not much of hill decent but i remembered optimizing the battery mode that night. As i arrive and hold on to auto-stop, i scroll the MID and found out i've achieved my best run.

I believe anybody can achieve the same results. Especially those Insight which have gone through some mileage with properly seasoned engine.

Prius publish their FC as 38km/l. Maybe they did similar run and achieve such result. But in real world Prius FC just around 20km/l.

Ya i notice that when testing the car last time. That actually not sticker, but semi-transparent layer of blue and red with led/bulb behind it, which lit up when the car switched on. Some of us so used to plain/ bare meter with only white font and black background, so its hard to accept the insight coloured meter initially.

Actually the design of the meter is a hybrid of Honda Odyssey and Civic...

I kinda like it less plain and boring...

Went to Kah Motor Puchong Service Center (the one near the Tesco Puchong U-Turn flyover) to do my 10k service. Mentioned to the service advisor that my car have a quite a loud and prominent whistling sound coming probably from somewhere behind the dashboard on passenger side when driving at around 100km/h. No sound before 100km/h and the sound also disappear after 110km/h. The sales advisor say will get technician to drive out and test, so service will take longer than usual (he mentioned 1 and a half hour).

Walking around, I noticed my car was actually parked in the parking lot most of the time (only went into the workshop for about 20 minutes). I waited close to 3 hours and still car not ready so I go ask whether it's ready. The service advisor told me technician did test drive but did not hear any whistling sound when driving at 100km/h so ask me to come back and check again if I still hear the sound. I was wondering how come the car could have been driven out of the service center for the test drive without me noticing it, maybe I actually overlooked.

Now come the disappointing part, when I get into my car and start the engine, I noticed the milage at the MID was exactly the same reading as when I send in the car! I was like, wow, they can bring the car to 100km/h in less than 1km mileage recorded in odometer?

I didn't know Kah Motor Puchong have a wind tunnel facility inside them to test wind noise at high speed without the need of actually driving the car into highway, or, they actually have the capability to reset my odometer back to original mileage after their test drive.

I supposed service engineers normally felt car owners are just fussy, wind noise during high speed is a normal thing and a lot of the complains are just psychological effect of the car owners always wanting their car to be in perfect condition, and since it is under warranty, car owners will complain on every small things they could find.

I was in hurry so I do not have much choice and I did not make a fuss out of it, since I had wasted 3 hours sitting down there assuming they actually took my car out for test drive.

No, the sound was there since day one when the car in stock condition. i do not have time to complain to them till the 10k service (anyway, i am lesser than 2 months owning this car).

kah motor puchong was nearest to me. any recommended service center near to puchong? i will try there next time. thanks very much for everyone's feedback. most of the time, i felt information in this forum is more trustful, accurate and sincere as compared to sales advisors or service engineer.

Cbinn: can I ask whether it's like the sound of wind funneling through a very small hole till it sounds like something is vibrating? If yes, u have the same problem as I have but mine at very high speed, around 150-160.

Also people... Please BAN Kah motors. I had the same bad experience with the Ipoh branch too. In the end I diagnose the leaking water problem myself and fixed it myself. They will tell all sorts of grandma stories to shift the mistakes or car defect back to u. TNMCCB... Kah motors can go f themselves

Added on December 21, 2011, 7:57 pmTo those who wanna get Kah motor technician to drive ur car out for testing, I advice u FORGET it. They say they have directive from HM not to drive out. Cbinn, sorry u been played around. They are just trying to protect their puny ass
