IMO... if we're changing engine oil every 5k, there's no need for fully-syn. semi-syn oil is more than enough to last the 5k service interval.

bear in mind most fully-syn oils are developed w/the idea that it will last for longer service intervals (10k++).

I used the trip meter A to see how many KM do I get with a full tank. The meter B I used to keep track when I need to service my car.
*
nice way to balance both meters smile.gif

cuz your friends don't understand the concept behind the car, men fear what they don't know & understand. Just enjoy the car when you  received it.  icon_rolleyes.gif

this car isn't for everyone... if they don't like it now, ask them again in 3-5 yrs time when every car on the road will be a hybrid w/CVT transmission.

Congrat on you ICE upgrade. Your setup almost similar to infinitium's.

Didnt bother about warranty. We warrant the car ourselves  tongue.gif
*
can't agree more... there are always risks in life, so as long as you get ICE done at a reputable ICE shop by a sifu who knows what he's doing, i feel the risk we make in our ICE is worth the many hours we'll spend listening to it smile.gif

can someone tell me how good is insight for frequent long distance driving (JB - KL - IPOH). In terms of reliability and comforts when we drive at least 120 km/h. I assumed its fc is good enough to consider for long distance travel.
*
i drove PG to KL, and KL to PG... no complaints about comfort & stability. only small issue for me is the wind/road noise @ 120++.... gets a bit noisy.

Does any of your insight having static electric problem on your car body?
After driving my insight for roughly half an hour, when I open my car, I tend to be shocked. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem? I was thinking of grounding installation, but not sure will this solve the problem or just create additional problem.  unsure.gif  unsure.gif  unsure.gif

hmm, im quite sure the grill design is not the modulo type.
anyway thanks... am really keen on the new grill for the facelift model.
current grill quite similar with honda city.

cruise at 40-50KM for 5-10 sec u will notice RPM drop to 1k and car fully on battery for few KM if driving on flat land and no traffic in front any breaking they car will disengage the full battery mode or so call full battery mode lol
Credits to liokmin
QUOTE
Today I just found a way to trigger the 100% Battery mode.
When run low speed smoothly (no climbing hill) and when you see combine battery+fuel mode, release the pedal and re-engage the pedal very lightly, then 100% battery mode will cut in.
Any extra accelerate/ battery drain/ climb hill will trigger combine battery+fuel mode again.

For those who never see battery full charge, I see before.
Just try to maximize any going down sloping (sacrifice some speed) during your battery full -1 bar.

yeah, whenever im not in hurry, i will do that to get the best milleage...especially during hiway cruise.
with this, u will see sudden increase in the Range km.

if i remember correctly, I managed to hold the fully battery run for almost 15-18secs.

hope u can keep yr eyes on the road and not be distracted by watching batt bar all the time - else later it will be a v expensive lesson for IN2 owners smile.gif

We all know the car jerks. But I drive like a jerk now. Heck, I drive my Kenari faster than I drive my Insight.

Is it just me or are all Insight drivers obsessed with hypermiling? Even driving at 70 - 80km/hr on highway, I always manage to overtake a lot of Insights. I think we are the reason for traffic jam in KL now.

Cheers from fellow jerk in a jerky car.
*
i drive like i always do... i go fast if the road ahead is clear, and i overtake where i need to. doesn't mean i drive like a jerk.
