QUOTE(keelim @ Nov 3 2011, 08:19 PM) Oh. I am not going to SA but further. Just want to ask if you had similar experience with currency. Thanks for sharing. Did it cost like sgd5 per withdrawal? Exchange a bunch of USD, then see if the country you're going to how the rates are, if they're bad then withdraw from ATM lor. It's like $8. I've withdrawn in Botswana, South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius before with no problems.

QUOTE(fbjkl @ Nov 3 2011, 10:43 PM) it is a holiday in singapore, kinwing... i have already saved 2012 public holidays page from MOM website. Added on November 3, 2011, 10:57 pmhehe...ya, it's imperative for long weekend...but to see the smiles on family members' faces = worth it... Added on November 3, 2011, 10:58 pmhaih, i have even low self-esteem after seeing this. Added on November 3, 2011, 11:02 pmhaha, ch_teo...have u bought ur CNY bus/flight tix already? Added on November 3, 2011, 11:05 pm mercury8400, apparently u r pulling my legs...im cheap and hard labour... You ain't cheap labor unless you work as a general worker or a cleaner in a shipyard. These guys work long hours in uncomfortable environments for very little pay and their OT rate is 3 dollars an hour. Or your a metal ship salvager in alang where the mortality rate is one worker a day.

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Nov 2 2011, 04:48 PM) Hi...I have a question. Can we withdraw from our EPF account 2 for purchase of HDB? Housing price is continuing to increase and I do not want to pay for other ppl's installment forever. QUOTE You are not eligible to apply if you:
• Buy a land or a house lot only. • Renovate, repair or do additional work to the existing house.. • Property ownership is not via sale & purchase transaction. • Have taken an overdraft loan. • Buy a third house. • Buy a house in a foreign country. http://www.kwsp.gov.my/index.php?ch=p2memb...rawtype&ac=2683

QUOTE(precursor80 @ Nov 4 2011, 12:01 PM) Thanks. Missed out this page. The other pages I read only had eligibility. I guess the only way is to invest in a m'sian property and sell it off to buy a HDB to withdraw my EPF.

That being said, rules are meant to be broken, and in Malaysia anything Boleh Never knew that property bought with CPF had to be returned when sold but that is too far a distance for me to consider. I need the roof to stay instead of investing now. So did not think about EPF, but I heard that profit from the sale of property less than 5 years in M'sia will be taxed. Need to dwell into more research. Thanks for the heads up too.

QUOTE(benedictee1981 @ Nov 3 2011, 12:32 PM) sorry, im not comparing my pay with other. As IT support, i do need to work on rig, onshore and offshore especially during the sea-trial.At the end of the day, it will be same working environment as others.is just diffrent on job sope and responsibility. Anyhow is a good exposure to working in oil and gas field. Why dont your company get contracts to equip older oil tankers with wifi? Seems like mostly rigs and FPSO get that treatment.
