QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Nov 2 2011, 12:07 AM) yes it isnt too hard to enter a commercial bank with a sales role. attended a career talk by one of the largest domestic banks and apparently they are looking for lotsa personal bankers. they told me they recruit all year round. academic requirement wasnt high, but at least a diploma.Added on November 2, 2011, 12:50 am QUOTE(PepsiCo @ Nov 2 2011, 12:45 AM) this? http://sammyboy.com/ but it says 'celebrating singapore's golden period'? besides cant find any career centric subforum. This post has been edited by icycokes: Nov 2 2011, 12:50 AM |

QUOTE(LYR @ Nov 2 2011, 12:17 AM) apart from sales, is it hard to be recruited into banks in SG as foreigners? leaving alone those experienced ones. i personally dont see any fresh/entry level vacancies. Well, for an entry level position that any tom d*ck and harry also can do, why would a bank bother with all the hassle of employing a foreigner when there's lots of local SC's who can fill the roles? |

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Nov 1 2011, 03:02 PM) No. try get your facts right 1st before posting to avoid confusion. You don't need a Sg license to drive a Msia car. This issue have been discussed quite a number of times before . And where did you get this "fact" from since it's not stated anywhere in the official websites? The only statement I see is this. "A foreigner above 18 years of age and holding a Work Pass/Dependent Pass/Student Pass may drive in Singapore with a valid class 3, 3A or 2B foreign licence, for a period of not more than 12 months. A Singapore driving licence is required after 12 months. Those on short term social visit may drive with their foreign licence for up to 12 months each time they enter into Singapore. For licence not written in English language, an International Driving Permit or translation is required as explained below." I won't want to be caught in an accident in Singapore driving a Malaysian registered car with a Malaysian license after 12 months on work pass from the statement above but that's just me. I suspect you can probably get away with it but why take the risk. Converting a license is not hard and you don't have to "blacklist" your Malaysian driving license if you are creative enough. |

I think recently, there is an article in the newspaper which discourages companies to hire foreigners ahead of locals. SG gov apparently is trying to implement laws to curb this kind of practice. So unless the job has no local people applied for (probably too lowly paid, sux job or job nobody else want) then only they will consider foreigners. |

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Nov 2 2011, 12:47 PM) I am blind.
