I guess I am one of them who got the upgrade. I am still contemplating if I should make the move. I have no use of the points in my platinum now as the points are collected way faster through my AMEX Gold CC so wondering if I should just for the sake of getting a VS.....opinions? I do travel quite abit due to my work nature and the non expiry miles sound like a good deal. Getting a free trip every other decade sounds pretty cool. biggrin.gif

Can this really be considered an upgrade ? Because if one were to apply for the Citibank PremierMiles VISA Signature using a salary slip, the salary required is actually lower than Citibank VISA/MasterCard Platinum. I personally see this more like a second card rather than a upgrade. Just my RM0.02 smile.gif

+1. Personally I don't see this as an upgrade too and yes ... the qualifications criteria is lower. Given the choice of reward system, I still think MBB offer better value. Perceived prestige is not there as anyone can get it.

Don't get blinded by the perceived Citibank's card value & Signature brand - decide on the use of the card based on your usage and how you wish to be rewarded.

Was hoping to keep it as a second card but they told me I would have to cancel my platinum one. Hmmmm......I don't even know why I was given a Platinum in the first place when my salary is not there yet. LOL. I thought the minimum amount for both the platinum and premier miles are the same?

You are offered a Platinum so that you will be attracted to sign up with the bank vs other bank who offered you lesser. (Which I believe you happily accepted the Platinum) These days type/color of card does not indicate your actual earning power, more like perceived earning power.

Take some effort to understand the AirMiles conversions rates and the minimum that you need before you could go anywhere. Using credit cards as a perceived standing status is not a wise move for anyone.

I know what you mean. Have been thinking hard on it. I have never used my points to change for anything and as said, the Amex gold cc collects point alot faster since I only use the card for petrol. As for the visa, I use them to pay my insurance premiums ( 10k++ per year ) and for times that I can't use my Amex, visa would be my second choice. I have frequent flyer miles with SIA and Rm3 to 1 Airmile to 1 Krisflyer points seem pretty good of a deal compared to other cards ( I know Amex has a krisflyer amex card which is Rm2 to 1 krisflyer mile but the insurance coverage is half of what the PremierMiles offer ).

I'm not pro in this but I tend to stick with citibank for the convenience and all. I have had nightmares with CIMB, HSBC and UOB so I'm staying away from them now......

Yeah. Maybankard Duo is kind of the it card now. Citibank credit card is just not what it was anymore.

For those swipe at pump, should be no issue, even with RM1 thumbup.gif

But if need to go counter swipe, then the CS will give you black face or say " CANNOT ! " mad.gif or " MALAYSIA BOLEH, YOU TAK BOLEH ! " laugh.gif

You might be happy to know credit card interest is neither monthly or annual basis, it is compounded daily. rclxms.gif

If you didn't pay at least the minimum every month, you will be subject to maximum interest rate of 17.5% for retail transactions. Read the back of your credit card statement for more details and if you don't understand what is shown, the explanation below is a decent start.

Last time, I paid it with credit card at Immigration office Subang Airport. I heard the office had moved out to somewhere else.

Please note that Custom office doesn't deal with passport application/renewal.

The one in Immigration office in Damansara accepts credit card.
Do take note ... Kastam office does not do passport renewal, I don't think they ever had such a service. I think you need to go to the Immigration office to do this.
