Today got a call from HSBC offering me Visa Signature Card. GST and annual fee waive for 1st year.
I am still considering if I should take up the offer.
What is your say?

HSBC Credit cards have free annual fee waive by just swiping 12 times a year  thumbup.gif Got RM50 to spare and add HSBC VS to your collection  tongue.gif

Seriously, only you know if the card will benefit you.

Do you aware that the 5x rewards points is not a permanent benefit of this card? I found out from reading the T&Cs. I have commented it in your blog.

Click below link to read my short article about OCBC promotion at Fahrenheit88. Pretty good deal where we can get RM20 voucher for spending RM100 at Fahrenheit.

Thanks for sharing. OCBC is quite aggressive with discount promotions & contests recently. That's good for cardholders. From my experience, Citibank and Maybank are the best in terms of the discount promotions. I might be wrong here. What's your say?

Probably, you can write up an article for cards with the best promotions. smile.gif

I just received a call claimed to be from Maybank, informing me that someone is using my card to charge 2K transaction for Takaful. He wanted to stop the transaction but need to verify my card number & expiry date for verification purpose. Then, asked me to give my card number & exipry date.

I called back MBB card CS to investigate. No such transaction ever recorded in their system.

Please be alert of this fraud.

milentechie, thanks for sharing. If they really from MBB, why the do need you card number as it will be shown in their system.
Can you also post and state the number in this Thread on phone calls.
*
I have linked this post to that thread. Luckily, I remember that I have read somewhere that bank will never call to ask for your account number. I was feeling suspicious of the call then. Caller ID appeared as "Withheld" on my mobile.

Unfortunately I only realise about the tape when I reached home. Quickly open my wallet and saw the crease one its edge.

WTA. If I erased the CVV from the card, is it still valid and accepted by merchants?
What is the best method to conceal it?

How many credit cards do you carry with you all the time? My wallet has not enough place for all my cards (credit cards + loyalty cards + ID cards + ATM + TnG). rclxub.gif smile.gif

I am wondering how bro Gen-X carries all his cards. brows.gif

Planning to get a card holder. Any experience/recommendation to share? smile.gif

hahaha, this thread a bit slow, so here I go OTing. Mods please delete if any of you find this post not appropriate.

Nowadays with all kinds of cards, men's standard wallets having 6-12 slots for cards are just not adequate. Even if you can manage to squeeze in all the cards, the wallet becomes thick.

Myself, I use to have a cheap Bonia wallet that can hold 12-15 cards until my wife bought me a LV Multiple wallet which has only 6 slots for cards but I manage to squeeze in 7 CC, JJ card (free parking at JJ), IC and driving license. The rest of my cards are in a elongated wallet which I bought for 70% discount at Robinsons, click here to see it. And I carry a sling bag (for years now) for the elongated wallet together with my 3-4 phones, house keys, car keys, pens, other merchants cards, hair brush, hacks, fags, lighters (keep loosing them) and can also fit in an iPad. And many people have commented that I either look line Ah Long or VCD seller (last time worst, use to dye my hair blonde), hahaha. milentechie, time for you to carry a sling bag too biggrin.gif
*
Thanks for the suggestion. Agreed with what you'd said. I am finding ways to reduce the thickness of my wallet. Thinking of getting another wallet/card holder just for storing the cards.

Yeah...a sling bag or tote bag might do the trick to keep everything that you are carrying while on the move. smile.gif

I also found some interesting credit card holders in Amazon.com that come with protection from RFID scanning. Some can hold up to 10-15 cards. shocking.gif

you should change and start having your wallet in the front pocket, not only will that prevent damage to your cards but also sitting on your wallet is not good feng shui practice.
*
According to my version of feng shui, sitting on the wallet means you are sitting on a pile of cash. Banyak "ong".. laugh.gif

1. Maybank offer RM50 per month for petrol or in total?
2. OCBC have minimum credit in order to get the rebate for RM50 per day?
*
1. Total purchase regardless of any transactions; not just for petrol only. Only applicable during weekends.
2. Same here. Applicable any days but not all type of transactions. Depending on the merchant codes. No min purchase is required.

You will have a good idea by checking individual thread on the cards.

Even you do not hold any Citibank CC, so it can be that great  tongue.gif If Citibank have some sort of auto annual fee waiver like swipe 12 times, sure more people will consider it as save us time calling CS for waiver.
As requested, I just posted my article on AmBank Credir Cards Promotion at my blog.
Click here to read my article AmBank Group Credit Card Promotion 2011. Those of you that spend RM400 on the 1st Sat & Sun of each month can consider this card.

FYI, all MasterCard transaction of RM100 and above are entitled to enter MasterCard 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival Contest where the Grand Prize is RM100.000 shopping spree in KL. With most of us using MBB 2 AMEX, more chances for those without the AMEX card, hahaha.
*
Another piece of impressive write-up from you. Great job! rclxms.gif

I want to add here that you get RM50 reward with new card application with minimum spend. That will help you to cover first year GST.

I think Citibank lost its glory already.
My current fav is MBB.  thumbup.gif  (Just the cc ... )

I agree with your statement. Back then, Citibank card is a must have due to great privileges, promotions and contests that come with the card.

I am still keeping CT Classic card (10 years with me), standing by for future promotions in case one day CT fights back hard to win the competition.

Thanks for being alert. I didn't notice it. Please disregard my earlier comment on the promotion.

one thing to mention is, the poslaju packing is transparent?!  hmm.gif

I was informed by CS that I can use it right away after I sign at the back. No activation is required. I was a bit shocked then. I don't feel secure of this kind of arrangement.

Last time, I paid it with credit card at Immigration office Subang Airport. I heard the office had moved out to somewhere else.

Please note that Custom office doesn't deal with passport application/renewal.

you manage to get a card holder? my cards are getting out of shape in my wallet and fear that it cant be swiped at some point.

Thanks for reminding me. I almost forget about it. blush.gif

I did check out Popular bookstore on the recommendation by one member here. But, I didn't like what I have seen there.

Not mean to offend the kind member. The cheap looking transparent plastic cardholder doesn't match at all with the "status" that come with the cards that I am holding. It cheapen the cards. tongue.gif laugh.gif
