my annual income below 36k, thts y im worried,

'dear sir, ur card is not activate yet, after 3 month it will expired by itself, regarding the goverment fee only can be waive if swipe once'

totally blur about the explanation, i think i need to pay rm50
*
It explains that your card has expired but you still have to pay the GST because it has being charged to your card and in order to get waived, you need to swipe the card at once. In the case, you're not able to do so as your card is not usable anymore.

Am not sure. I remember reading somewhere whereby the RM50 GST is only applicable after one had "activate" the new card.

Nope, GST is charged once the card is approved, whether cardholder use/collect the card or not.
I have confirmed that with BNM by conversation as well as email.

But the bank is allowed to waive (or absorb) the cost, depending on your luck (if a good officer handle your case).

I personally experienced it b4..

You need documents to prove of income - payslip, EPF statement, bank statement or even EA form.

Banks are getting stricter now!

Thanks for reply. The Citi salesgirl just ask me my basic, when i said its 650 she tOtally decline my request lol, not even request for my documents.

Trying my luck with hsbc. after i send her email with my 6 months payslip,EPF,and IC attach. Hsbc salesgirl call me right away the next following day confirming my request and processing for Platinum Amanah.

She doesnt ask for bank statement though.. My Salary bank is maybank.

But still wondering if i need a platinum. Can tell me a bit pro/con? Already made some research, just to be confirm.

Hi there, I just reading first post and i found out that fuel rebate is intresting, this lead me to citibank site, and i found out that, why there is so many type of CC? in my mind is just silver gold and platinum, and now i see, citibank shell card, airasia card, giant card.. if I always deal with these 3 (airasia, giant and shell), meaning that i should get all in order to get the discount?

YES subjected that the discount you can save is more than RM50 to at least offset the GST.

For petrol, please go to Petrol Thread and learn which card saves you more than the Citi Shell - read gerrardling's comments at 1st post.

Good and informative read, as always! Thank you for your efforts smile.gif

BTW, perhaps you can suggest that your readers convert your 'background' with a tool such as Readability if they are not comfortable viewing your blogs - using a bookmarklet would be the simplest non-install method (I'm one of those 'silent complainers' out there!).

Just added your RSS feed to my list of subscriptions!

Ya, because you, Miles, hye and other regular contributors are doing such a good job here that I have nothing valuable to add - been a passive reader for the most part.

Anyway, for the grand-parents, parents and parents-to-be here, Motherhood Expo is taking stage this week as follows:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Going to get a stroller and other baby stuff there! Exhibitors include Combi and Philips Avent.

A quick question; is it true that all banks cannot block a particular unauthorised transaction which it has not been charged to your card yet but you have received a SMS from the bank?

Bank Negara mandated the sms sending so that cardholders can detect unauthorized transactions and report to the bank. Doesn't make sense if the bank say they cannot block that transaction.
