Wonder if Maybank TP points can be exchanged for cash?

No such offerings for the mean time. Only AMEX MR has such option.

Thanks.

Thinking to convert to cash, then put in savings. Then use cc to buy Samsung tab from SenQ.

Otherwise, I need to exchange the TP directly from SenQ.

You can convert cash voucher 8000TP for RM50
or 200TP for RM1, then use the voucher to buy your samsung tab, same.

Hi, sorry if i'm asking silly questions here, but i'd be grateful anyone would clear my doubts.

here it goes, I've maybank 2 card which the statement due date is around the corner, i've paid some of the amount(partial amount, not full), due to sudden financial problems. if the balance were carried forward to next month(missed the due date), will it impact on my financial record, let's say when i'm applying for house loan in the future, will this late repayment hurt my chances?
p.s, currently i'm having car loan, which i never missed the due date.

Based on what you said above, should not tarnish your record. Important thing is pay the Minimum Amount prior to the Due Date.

should not? oh no, i need a firm answer. sorry if i offended you, but i need to really make sure that it would not affect my record. i thought my planning was good, but i didnt realised that they set the statement date earlier than my credit card date, the due date actually is just 1 day before my payroll date. great...

anyone can really give me a firm answer on whether it will affected my record?

Well, I am pleased that you actually read and understood the words in my reply. Reason being why I said should is because I got no idea if you paid before Statement Date or after. If you have made a payment after the statement date equal or more than the minimum amount, then the answer is that you credit history will still be good.

Bro, another thing, BNM requires all credit card issuers to give grace period of 3 days after Due Date. So this is what you should do, go make Cash Deposit Payment once you get your gaji.

In the future, you can call the CS to change your CC Statement Date (which will change the Due Date), so that payment is after salary is in your account.

oh sorry bro, i just paid more than 10 times of my minimum amount moments ago, and my due date is near end of the month.

I've just called the bank to ask about the inquiries, and the representative told me although it will leave a record in bank negara, but it wont hurt the financial record, provided that minimum amount been paid, and do not over credit limit frequently.

thanks bro!

My previous encounter with BNM, if I remember correct, banks only update to BNM CCRIS once a month. It does not matter what date, it will get reflected either this month or next month.

If payee did not pay this month, if it is not reflected in CCRIS this month, next month sure will update. If not, the month following next guarantee will show (2 months late). Which means, it takes another 2 + 12 months for CCRIS to clear it after you have make proper payment.

In regards to minimum payment, I'm not sure since I always pay full statement amount.
Hence, CCRIS will show zero (0) for all the credit cards/loans & months.
Therefore, I can't give a 100% answer for the CCRIS tracking if pay minimum or pay late.
My advise is to contact BNM rather than banks to get proper answer.

Generally, new ccris reports come out every 16th of the month. Banks are given until the 15th to update their record. The outstanding amount / payment conduct is as of the end of the previous month.

Example:

Let's say one were to walk in to BNM to obtain his ccris report on 17th April 2012, what's reflected on his ccris report is figures as of 31st March 2012.

Banks to raise credit card balance rates

Ambank card holders who have been paying their outstanding credit card bills on time for 12 consecutive months will be charged an interest rate of 15% per annum, up from 13.5%. Prompt payments for at least 10 months will come under a 17% interest charge (previously 16%) while those who do not fall into either category will be slapped with the highest interest rate of 18% (previously 17.5%).For late payments, card holders will be charged a minimum of RM10 or 1% of the outstanding balance, whichever is higher, and up to a maximum of RM100.

Citibank will raise its tiered pricing rates for prompt payments over 12 months from 13.5% to 15%, 16% to 17% (for 10 prompt monthly payments), retaining the maximum interest at 17.5%.

Hong Leong Bank's new interest rates are 15%, 17% and 18% in the respective categories.
