QUOTE(hye @ Jun 20 2011, 06:15 PM) I performed an online payment before and was entitled for the 5% cash back. i think posting date is inaccurate. It is not related to the posting date but rather the merchant's processing date that directly affects the actual transaction date.As bro Gen-X mentioned, there's a risk you won't get it because of the merchant's posting date. This does not mean the bank doesn't give it to you coz the problem is the merchant's posting date . example 1: a lot of online merchants only process orders taken on weekends on Monday, so your transaction date is Monday and not the weekend (and miss out on 5%) example 2: a transaction made between 12am - 1am Saturday came up to be a transaction dated Friday (as the merchant only processed the previous days orders at Saturday AM) |

premier miles would be a good card had the complimentary priority pass been for unlimited visits like most overseas plat cards.

QUOTE(vanderbilt @ Jul 31 2011, 11:23 AM) What a meager CL. Never had such low CL even when I was a supplementary before getting my first card when I turned 21. Possible high income due to directorship/position in FAMA company? Just my 2 cents. |

QUOTE(Embrangle @ Aug 2 2011, 03:22 PM) Hey guys.. whats the difference between HSBC amanah and conventional card? All i heard is just one is point card and the other is a cash back card. Is there difference in privileges in local as well as overseas? I had a bad experience getting HSBC to give the same promotions to the Amanah cards. So I cancelled it. |

QUOTE(cRiXaLis @ Aug 15 2011, 02:48 PM) Was curious on something. I will be moving over to a new property and with the ID cost ,furniture etc. Most of the things i can buy with my CC. Also will be trading my car for a newer one and the deposit can also be paid with CC. Since this will be the highest amount of cash I ever spend, was looking at a way to take advantage of this. Which card has the best rewards point ratio to be exchanged with Mas Enrich points?? or any other frequent flyer points. I travel to London/Bern every Quater Singapore every two weeks Hong Kong every month So far I only use Public Bank and HSBC. HSBC relationship manager has forwarded my enquiry to the CC department but has no reply yet. Public Bank was a no. Any other bank?? QUOTE(chemistry @ Aug 15 2011, 02:59 PM) depends on which airline as well.. MBB2 cards as well as Citibank Premier Miles might fit as well.. |

think it is more like competing with Citibank to have the largest cardholder base in Malaysia. Not to mention MBF also has a sizable merchant network

QUOTE(onthefly @ Sep 11 2011, 01:25 AM) BUT last week i went with my fren and my fren did the same. show IC, pay slip, and a maybank sub card and next few hour he got his card. In my case., i gave my pay slip and IC but she said not needed. The reason in bold is why your friend got the card, not because of the sub card. If you really want the card, then bring all documents to counters/road shows in shopping centres and get the agents to apply for you. You can also try the maybankard centre in 1u |

QUOTE(nooboy @ Oct 4 2011, 02:26 PM) Late 1 month still ok? late 1 month won't die.. just record will be bad and hard to get other loans and credit cards in the future.Really? Just curious, if ma fren lari (from cc/bank) wat will happen to him? Can he get muflis or bankrup title? My suggestion is if he really can't pay in full, pay the MINIMUM amount so that he can take advantage of better interest rates. if he runs, then he will get sued, lose all savings and assets and made a bankrupt. If you are really a friend, never encourage him to do this. Instead encourage him to stop spending. How do you rake up a Rm13k debt that you know you can't pay... QUOTE(nooboy @ Oct 4 2011, 02:37 PM) is there even a minimum? I don't intend to find out.look at it this way. at 13k debt and 18% p.a., it will reach 20k in abt ~ 3 years if he does not pay or charge new transactions to the card. Although if he does not pay for ~ 3 months it will already ring bells in the banks. Do you know the the banks can take money from your accounts to pay off your debts without needing your express permission? (cause you already gave it them when you signed the application form). If you can't afford it, don't buy it. This post has been edited by zenquix: Oct 4 2011, 02:44 PM |

QUOTE(nooboy @ Oct 4 2011, 02:47 PM) Ok, so any other solution to help out my fren? From googling, min total debts to be made a bankrupt is RM30k (but includes all debts - study loans, car loan, house loan, personal loan, credit card)Just asking him, minimum payment this month is rm6xx.. So he totally ran out money.. Can he direct go n disccuss with bank bout this matter? Sad to see a person overspend to the point they can't even make a 5% payment Options 1) cut expenses - stop eating out 2) any assets (FD, ASB)? - take it out as the dividend earned is much less than the interest charged to the card 3) Balance transfer to other cards. usually it will be lower interest but if your friend is not matured enough to control spending, it will just be a bigger hole to cover Cards with 0% rate now is Maybank and CIMB but I doubt your friend can get a card with a credit limit big enough to stomach that credit transfer, lest settle 13k in 12 months 4) AKPK - when you are unable to even make min payment, he should know he is already in trouble. Option 3) does not necessarily solve your "unable to make min payment problem" since it just moves the bill to other cards (just not growing anymore if you manage to get a 0% plan) Finally CUT the card! Stop him from spending. It is apparent he is not matured enough to handle the responsibility of unsecured credit. This post has been edited by zenquix: Oct 4 2011, 03:05 PM |
