Yes. Only applicable when pumping petrol. The petrol swipe will withhold RM 200 regardless what amount you pumped (< RM 200).

Why? Because a credit card is not an ATM card  doh.gif  It is clearly stated in the Terms and Conditions that all cash advances are subjected to a Fee.

And based on your example, not only will you be charged the withdrawal fee but also 18% interest (as mentioned by ronnie) since your account has outstanding balance after deducting the FEE.

And since you are only asking a question that can be easily be found in the card issuer website, please read below thread:

If cash advance, then it is ok with 18%interest. But above case is over paid rm1000. I just withdraw back my overpaid money, not advance bank money. So can argue with bank for term of 'cash advance '

In the first place, you should not treat your credit card like ATM. T&C from all banks clearly says this.
It may be OK if you are using your card for transactions and you "prepay" your card but this is another case altogether.

Your advise may be misconstrued "It's OK to do all over again and I'm sure to win my case" by a newbie who is absolutely clueless and will come back here SOS us to help.

What's the point of paying RM1000 into your credit Card to earn nothing in advance.
What are you trying to achieve ? You paid additional RM1000, and yet you want to take it back out as Cash Advance from Credit Card. Very naive indeed.

i just based on a case study where posted by another forumer (see below), if we are able to get bank to waive this charges, then we can 0% bt into card account, then withdraw it. Meanings that, a method to convert 0% BT to pocket cash

Debit Card: Put $$ in first, then you swipe the amount deposited.
Credit Card: Use the $$ first, pay later

Cash Advance issue:-

1)Public Bank Debit Card
Example: Bank in RM5,000. Swipe RM4,000. Balance RM1,000.

Then you wish to take back RM1,000 for normal daily cash usage.
Go to Public Bank ATM withdrawal RM1,000.
Amount deducted= RM1,000.

2)Citibank Credit Card
Example: Bank in RM5,000. Swipe RM4,000. Balance RM1,000.

Then you wish to take back RM1,000 for normal daily cash usage.
Go to Citibank ATM withdrawal RM1,000.
Amount deducted= RM1,000 + RM50(5% charge)
= RM1,050

My question is... WHY?!?!??! RM1,000 is my $$$$ in there!

The system doesn't care because it's program that way for cash advance. Thus those that overpay, will always need to call in to the bank to ask for a refund via cheque.

How hard is it to understand Credit Card and Debit Card is 2 different product with different set of system and T&C?

Bro, we have said that is it clearly stated in the T&C. If you have a problem with it, bring it up to Bank Negara Malaysia.

If you are unhappy with all our answers then you may bring your case to Bank Negara and to your bank. And do inform us whether you successfully fight you case out. Honestly, be prepared for it not to go your way.

This is a good case where I mentioned in my MOD notes that immediate action is necessary for such dangerous posts in which an uninformed person will try it and things goes bad.

Priority Pass (but to 13 airports only?) issued to cardholder who spent RM3K overseas.

Doesn't mention priority pass but specifies Plaza Premium Lounges. Most likely some partnership with them
http://www.plaza-network.com/

one point that stands out is 5000 points = 1000 miles for enrich (MH)/ krisflyer (SQ)/ asia miles (CX)

taking into consideration for 5x points for overseas spend, this puts their earning rate to the RM1 per mile, which is very good.

I noticed it says you will also qualify for Priority Banking. AmBank does provide Priority Banking ?

Their rewards redemption items are priced competitively thumbup.gif Anyway, they should give 2X Points for all local spending to fight more effectively with Maybank VISA Infinite.

Yah, I also was wondering about AmBank PB.

The AmBank Premier Cards are FREE FOR LIFE, and I guess it would be offered to all AmBank PB customers. And if they had had offer 2X reward points than it will be even better than MBB VI.

Now we shall wait and see what UOB Visa Infinite has got to offer.

Emm ... interesting. An emerging contender to fight with MBB VI & WMC.
If they match the local spending points multiplier then it's a straight fight. A quick look seem that their airlines points system may be better than MBB VI and they offer more choice of airlines.

Since there is no Chinese New Year banner in this section except for the fundsupermart in red, I thought I post below banner and have some CNY feel in this section smile.gif And if you want to see my CNY Dragon Red Packets, click here.

Check out http://www.maybank2u.com.my/ Maybank have been awarded Bank of The Year 2011 by Visa!

And Maybankard latest Promos:

10% off at Baskin Robbins http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/CNY130112.pdf until Dec 2012 thumbup.gif

Also 6% for agoda extended until end of the year thumbup.gif

I also published my new article about Citibank issuing me a new replacement Citibank Plat card for FREE with new number smile.gif The article also touched on Citibank Promos which is kind if dull. Click here to read the article on my new Citibank Platinum credit card and their promotions 2012.

Did not see any offer for Baskin Robbins this year with Citi cards. In 2010, HSBC credit cards get discount at BR but not in 2011. And this year the discount is being offered to Maybankard.

Happy Chinese New Year!
