Yes. You can perform an IBG to your credit card account. For more information, please refer to THIS thread.

What I know is, citibank pyramid sunway having 1 hour card approval, u apply and you can get it within 2hours. I'm not sure 1st timer can get it within 2h or not.

If you want to apply for maybank, go to 1U maybank card center, can get in 1hour

7 days is considered good already. A few years ago you need to wait around 2-3 weeks before you'll get your card.
If you want your credit card yesterday then apply for it 1 month before lah ... no need to come in here and be surprised just because you can't get your card any earlier.

And as a few members pointed, there's 1 hour application as well but if you are a first timer then see your luck.

When making hotel reservation through Agoda.com for example, will there be any foreign exchange fee and service charge?

You can choose the currency you want to pay with. So if you choose MYR, then no additional fees.

Great link Bro. However, don't really understand why some places (e.g. Celcom) it was ticked for Maybankard Credit Card but not for Other Banks Credit Card.

Not exactly accurate. MYR is charged at a higher rate than the actual exchange rate (ala Paypal). I have been trying to get them to charge at the local currency (leave the exchange rate to the banks) but the end result always ends up with them charging in MYR sad.gif

is above i.e. the currency fixed at MYR, applicable to Agoda.com itself (not thru MBB promo).

bank will never cancel your cc unless you ask them to do so. If you still have not clear your outstanding amount, you cannot cancel your cc. Bank will never convert your amount to any installment plan, you never make any payment, your ic and your name will be blacklisted in CCRIS and the interest amount will keep increasing like a snowball

That is so true. I actually wrote to them to complain about this but they practically ignored me (was quoted in USD but i was charged in MYR and i wasn't given an option to choose to settle the payment in USD or MYR) vmad.gif

Meaning it is better to choose the local currency and let the bank to charge according to the actual visa/mc rate + service charge?

Since (I believe) your question may be behind a personal motive - do exactly as what you wrote. Don't pay your credit card and see for yourself whether the bank would want to cancel your cc or call you up to offer you a good installment loan program. And experience for yourself being blacklisted in CCRIS and just about all financial institution in Malaysia - no access to any loans / credit cards and even have problems opening a bank account.

Then come back here and tell us your story!

4 months and they will cancel your card officially.
However after 2 months, they will already block your card thus you can't use your card. Then once you pay down you can use again the card. But 4 months you don't pay, even after you pay; you will need to ask for reinstatement before you can use the card.

Conversion of card balance to term loan is up to the bank's discretion. They may or may not grant you. But why pay a term loan with fix interest rate when one can pay down the balance and save on interest since credit card interest is on reducing interest term.

Correction on the term "blacklist" which is misused many times.
CCRIS will show one's payment conduct/behaviour. So for the banks, they may decide to approve or not to approve a loan based on the payment conducts. CCRIS do not "blacklist", it merely shows the credit worthiness of one person.

Just to share, I did cancel one of my MBB CC which still has installment plan going on.
The card is cancelled successfully. No more annual RM50 GST.
However, the CC account is still active and every month it is charge X amount and I need to finish clear the installment plan.
