As long the signature is not same as your signature in the payslip, is consider not valid and you no need to make the payment.

As it is consider same case as the credit card been cloned. Furthermore the bank send you message is to identify is it you make the transaction or else there is no point to send you the message.

i cannot blamed the cashier also, because he try to sign as same as my sign, but when i look into it, i already know is totally not my signature... is almost same, but actually is different if take to compare... now i also dunno what reason is for the signature.. the signature can be copy by other person. why dont use the thumbprint to identify the credit card owner? signature can be sign by any 1...

TS, when is the fraud happened? Did you receive any SMS informing you there is a transaction happen with the above amount and where? According to BNM rules, all banks have to send notification to credit card user for any transaction that has been made. You can use this point to argue with the bank if you weren't received any SMS.

i've had experience with stolen card.

the ******* was trying to buy oakley sunglasses from the UK amounting to about RM5000.00 if not mistaken.
The card was charged.

I found out by actually visiting the last shop i went and asked to speak to the manager.

it seems she knew her staff was doing this, and she ultimately directed me to the person.

Had a serious talk and asked him to pay up whats due. Threaten him that i've filed a police report which i actually did.

Concurrently, through my bank, i managed to find out the UK store name and address.

Contacted them and asked to cancel the transaction cos my bank was stupid enough to allow it through.

They did, and it was refunded back to the bank.

I then filed a claims differences request with my bank, and they then funded what was balance of the payment (the shop refunded, and due to FOREX differences, the bank covered up the rest of the balance which was just like RM50.00)...

Finally,
through knowing some "important" guys in that particular town, he went and spoke to the bastards parents, and he manage to convince them to pay me up.

I requested the full amount, but settled for RM500. i didnt inform that i managed to cancel all transaction and got my money back.

That guy paid up.

Points to summarize;
1: through luck and homework i managed to find out the prepatrator.
2: through careful planning, i managed to get myself refunded.
3: through connections, i manage to get the ******* to pay me.

In the end, i manage to get extra RM500 free for that harrowing experience.

minus fuel and travelling costs, about RM 400 clean ! wohoo...

i then belanja all that were involved in the "operation"

case close.

i am not lucky as u that all the evidence that i can found was destroy as the cctv in the shop is out of service.. but u r so lucky to can get ur thing done...

i have read the t n c , but i fail in 1 point that the point is need to report before the unauthorised transaction occur... but is report after the transaction occur, most probably i need to bear the payment... unfair+ not safe...

yes, i have receive the sms from bank that the transaction is already done and approved.. but what for they send to me after the transaction is done.. but they dint state down the bank contact number in the sms, that make me got to delay for around 15-20 minute for me to get the bank contact number and within that moment, they are going to make another transaction again.. so bad luck...

I still don't understand how was it stolen? How come only the card is missing whereas other things still intact?
Any places where you left your wallet unattended?

my credit card is never take out from my wallet and i also curious how come it can be stolen. only 3 suspection for myself.

1), when police want to check my licience, maybe i have accidently pull out my credit card and no put it back into my wallet. but is already happen 1 month ago..

2), when i go fun fair to have a thrill ride, my wallet is put inside a bag and been given the the staff there to keep for it, but there are so many eye, impossible the staff there dare to open my bag and take out a card from my wallet.

3), when i go for jogging, my wallet and my handphone is put inside my motorcycle locker, but nothing of my thing is gone, and my locker is no damage at all.. if he realli can take out my wallet and only steal 1 of the card inside my wallet and put it back without damage anything. this is a very high skill action.. but i most suspect my card is stolen in this moment, because the transaction is done at the same day..

Have you not suspect someone close to you whom may have stolen it instead?
It looks more like someone whom is close to you with access to your belongings.

Anyway good luck.

yes, of course you can cancel but still have to pay the RM50 GST. Most of the cards dont need activation nowadays.

The moment your card is approved then you are liable for the RM50 tax. Wait la ... and pay RM100 for both cards.

Debit Card: Put $$ in first, then you swipe the amount deposited.
Credit Card: Use the $$ first, pay later

Cash Advance issue:-

1)Public Bank Debit Card
Example: Bank in RM5,000. Swipe RM4,000. Balance RM1,000.

Then you wish to take back RM1,000 for normal daily cash usage.
Go to Public Bank ATM withdrawal RM1,000.
Amount deducted= RM1,000.

2)Citibank Credit Card
Example: Bank in RM5,000. Swipe RM4,000. Balance RM1,000.

Then you wish to take back RM1,000 for normal daily cash usage.
Go to Citibank ATM withdrawal RM1,000.
Amount deducted= RM1,000 + RM50(5% charge)
= RM1,050

My question is... WHY?!?!??! RM1,000 is my $$$$ in there!

That is because every time you withdraw from a credit card, there will be cash advance charges unless stated otherwise. These are the normal T&C for credit cards and despite having additional funds in your card, you cannot treat it as a bank account.

Thankfully you are with Citibank so my suggestion is that you call 03-23830000 and speak to the customer service. Tell them your case and there are chances they might be able to waive that RM50 for you.

Why? Because a credit card is not an ATM card doh.gif It is clearly stated in the Terms and Conditions that all cash advances are subjected to a Fee.

And based on your example, not only will you be charged the withdrawal fee but also 18% interest (as mentioned by ronnie) since your account has outstanding balance after deducting the FEE.

And since you are only asking a question that can be easily be found in the card issuer website, please read below thread:

Money in Debit Card belongs to you.

Money Withdrawn from Credit Card does not belong to you as it is being loaned to you!

Make sense now!
