SCB fan reporting in..

SCB Business Visa offers
1. 1% cashback (0.5% instant cash-back, 0.5% ChoicePoints redemption)
2. UNLIMITED KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge Access
3. 3X ChoicePoints for overseas spending

HLB Essential offers
1. 1% cashback (credit into your CC)

I use the SCB Business Visa for big purchase, places don't accept AMEX or whenever used up the Cash-Back on OCBC Titanium or Maybankard2 AMEX.
*
Alliance Plat
1. Minimum 0.6% cash back and up to 2% but capped for spending up to RM5K PLUS 1X reward Points for local spending.
2. Unlimited KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge
3. 2X reward Points for overseas spending.
4. Points are evergreen
5. Auto annual fee waiver with 12 swipes.

The thing with Alliance Plat is get the MasterCard where the overseas rate is lower compared to the Visa (mentioned by zenquix and observed the same in my case). Click here to see overseas transactions with my CC.

I wonder why Citibank cc offers are so lousy in Malaysia. Just look at what Citibank has to offer in our neighbour Singapore. The Citi Rewards cc in VS & WMC form is just so tempting.

Alli Plat.. 0.6% + 0.5% (point) = 1.1% (which is minimum and can reach until 2.5%) at least still better than SCB 0.5%+0.5% = 1%.

Both provide unlimited access of KLIA Premium Lounge....

I just realised that Standard Chartered has implemented a new security measure for credit card payment lately. An email alert contains brief info of your purchase and payment amount, will be sent to your email address upon over certain payment threshold.

So far, I received emails alert whenever my payment over RM3k for both retail purchase and online payment. No phone call from the customer service officer anymore. wink.gif

Guys, pls check your registered email address with SCB!! nod.gif

Any other bank has implemented the similiar security measure?

Nope, but can convert to Enrich Points.

Just FYI, the returns for Giant, JJ and Parkson cash voucher works out to be 0.46%

Anyway, below is link to Alliance Cash Back, once you spent above RM2550, you get 2% for remaining RM2450. Total max cash back about RM68/month

http://www.alliancebank.com.my/ccard_cashback.html

If you like spend RM5,000 locally, approximate total returns = 1.36% (cash) + 0.46% (voucher) = 1.82%

Market base in Singapore is very small with many cc providers to compete with.
Do you also know that MBB and CIMB cards is also aggressively promoted in Singapore ?

In Singapore, UOB got AMEX and it gives 10X points. Takashimaya Amex gives cash back 6%.

Went to Papa John and when I reached home, found out that the cashier peeled the double sided tape used to conceal the 3-digits. I just paste it last night. I am getting paranoid with the recent case.

Did you inquire why the cashier hand is so itchy?

Unfortunately I only realise about the tape when I reached home. Quickly open my wallet and saw the crease one its edge.

WTA. If I erased the CVV from the card, is it still valid and accepted by merchants?
What is the best method to conceal it?
