How many credit cards do you carry with you all the time? My wallet has not enough place for all my cards (credit cards + loyalty cards + ID cards + ATM + TnG).  rclxub.gif smile.gif

I am wondering how bro Gen-X carries all his cards.  brows.gif

Planning to get a card holder. Any experience/recommendation to share?  smile.gif

hahaha, this thread a bit slow, so here I go OTing. Mods please delete if any of you find this post not appropriate.

Nowadays with all kinds of cards, men's standard wallets having 6-12 slots for cards are just not adequate. Even if you can manage to squeeze in all the cards, the wallet becomes thick.

Myself, I use to have a cheap Bonia wallet that can hold 12-15 cards until my wife bought me a LV Multiple wallet which has only 6 slots for cards but I manage to squeeze in 7 CC, JJ card (free parking at JJ), IC and driving license. The rest of my cards are in a elongated wallet which I bought for 70% discount at Robinsons, click here to see it. And I carry a sling bag (for years now) for the elongated wallet together with my 3-4 phones, house keys, car keys, pens, other merchants cards, hair brush, hacks, fags, lighters (keep loosing them) and can also fit in an iPad. And many people have commented that I either look line Ah Long or VCD seller (last time worst, use to dye my hair blonde), hahaha. milentechie, time for you to carry a sling bag too biggrin.gif

Thanks for the suggestion. Agreed with what you'd said. I am finding ways to reduce the thickness of my wallet. Thinking of getting another wallet/card holder just for storing the cards.

Yeah...a sling bag or tote bag might do the trick to keep everything that you are carrying while on the move. smile.gif

I also found some interesting credit card holders in Amazon.com that come with protection from RFID scanning. Some can hold up to 10-15 cards. shocking.gif

I don't like to carry too many cards around in my wallet. Not even my ATM cards or medical cards.

Only IC, licence and two most frequently used CC.

Even no coins in my wallet.

Maybank doesn't have a Member-Get-Member promotion... Direct Access has one such program .. RM50 per recommended friend
*
not really Member Get member.. More like.. wanna become a Agent? Part time agent? >.<

As an insurance agent, when offering the Eon bank ingiafam card (or what name it is) card, we could get like 5% extra commission out of the premiums subscribed with the cards. So i'm not sure how it works for mbb?

QUOTE(andyfriends @ Jun 10 2011, 09:57 AM)
i think certain bank has their own "reservation"
like CIMb, if not mistaken, they allow usage up to only 90% for instalment and the remaining, for normal spending.
so u need to check with your bank and may have to pump in more so that u can enjoy the instalment promotion.

Added on June 10, 2011, 9:59 am

i suppose u can "gao dim" the agent, ask the agent to pay u ?
*
Gao Dim ka... +_+... duno who ... hahaha, Trying to become a agent myself as a dedicate of loving maybank's cards.

QUOTE(hye @ Jun 10 2011, 11:39 AM)
As mentioned, you need to ask whether they want to help you or not.
Can be tricky coz as far as I know MBB does not use 3rd party to sell their cards / sign up their customers. (I'm not talking about card promotions) It is their own staff which is likely not commission based. (I could be mistaken)
*
I have asked some agents, they said mbb low commission better don't do, get citibank / scb.. but hard to ask them to get those cards that has litterally no benefits @ all +_+"

Haven't asked the staffs yet... +_+"

you should thank me for subsidizing your sugar in your teh tarik and petrol for your car tongue.gif and I thank you for reminding me, just called UOB to cancel my wife supp card (but in actual fact I paying more GST for the UOB cards this year doh.gif ) And with my wife now having her own principal cards, yeah, paying like too much to the government.

So far, EON Bank credited RM50 into my account 2 months back and last month RHB gave me RM50. Now waiting for Citibank to credit RM50 into my wife and my accunt since we have used in more than 3 times in the first month. As I mentioned in my blog, HLB last 2+ years no need to pay GST since they gave me free 20,000 points (last time only need 7000 points to offset GST). OCBC auto GST waiver and hopefully I get another RM50 from EON Bank for using the card 36 times. I have canceled MBB Petronas and AMEX Gold CC to save RM100. My Amex Gold Charge Card which I don't use anymore got enough credit ( AMEX credited Jan cash back recently only) and MR points for next 7 years for me to shiok sendiri, hahaha

But, what the govt really need is people having outstanding balances so that they can earn 25% from the interest charges. Govt actually losing out with me having so many cards, because I get cash back or other returns in form of discount (which means less profit for the merchant and therefore less tax) and cash vouchers which are not taxable, hahaha. But then again, this year I am no longer in the highest tax bracket so they not losing out much.

But seriously, you are right, if one does not earn more than RM50 with their credit card, really no point having the card unless they are a fool like me, hahaha

Aluminium business card holder are normally thin type and hold few cards only.
My wallet put frequently used cards and other points cards
I have another leather/pvc business card holder that is nearly 1cm high when fully put in all the 10-15 cards. There is no pocket for each card, just put all in like business cards. These are for seldom/rarely used cards.

you should change and start having your wallet in the front pocket, not only will that prevent damage to your cards but also sitting on your wallet is not good feng shui practice.

According to my version of feng shui, sitting on the wallet means you are sitting on a pile of cash. Banyak "ong".. laugh.gif

you still have to pay the service tax to Govt, only thing is bank is trying to subsidise the GST indirectly via treatpoints when you spend using credit card (which previously you can redeem something else) blink.gif

haha... Gen-x, as long as you know what you are doing with the cards and can afford to pay the bills, you can have 50 or even 100 cards! notworthy.gif Unfortunately when Govt use the tax money for some mega projects we are kinda pissed off sad.gif

I have also received calls from SCB offering me PRE-APPROVED personal loan of RM30K with attractive interest rate. According to the customer service officer, i just need to go to their Jln Ampang branch to fill up a form and sign, and the 30K will be mine. Not sure how attractive is the rate as I rejected the offer and didn't enquire further info. I thought all these pre-approved loan thing is forbided by BNM?
