Yeah, they can check our CL and how much we owe tho CCRIS but can they check how much we pay every month? It will be good if they could check how much we pay every month.

Lets say A has a CL of 5K but spends 3K every month and pay in full every month. In his CCRIS, it will show CL 5K, outstanding 3K and payment reocrd 0 0 0 0 0.

However, B also has a CL of 5K and has an outstanding of 3K but just able to pay every month the minimum only of 5%. In B CCRIS too it will show CL 5K, outstanding 3K and payment record 0 0 0 0 0.
*
yup....u totally correct n FYI they cant check how much u pay. they only can know ur total CL in their system for each card....

many people dont know how the CCRIS work....i can double confirm it as i working in bank before...

Bankers have access to check how much payment made each month through Cardpac not through CCRIS. However, afaik, Cardpac is strictly for internal use.

only some higher management or internal officer can check....

those sales and marketing people dont have the right to check it.....which mean those banker sell car loan, house loan, credit card etc they dont have the power to check....

from HSBC website
In general it states - Swipe 2 times of minimum RM150 per swipe in a week on any shopping, groceries, dining, department store & petrol spend
In T&C clause 10, click here to read it - Includes 0% installment plans, Internet transactions, local & overseas retail transactions. And it also EXCLUDES many merchants like utilities, travel, hotels, etc
Promotion ending 11 December 2011 and don't forget to register for it.

0% Installment Plans - Great for Christmas shopping but also a method by the banks to entice the consumers to spend and spend more and to ensure the card holder can't cancel their cards since they have installment plan outstanding.

Click here to read my review on Maybank Visa Infinite and also click here to read my review on the Maybank Visa Infinite where I mentioned it is best for overseas.. Generally MBB VI is great for overseas and for local spending at places that does not accept AMEX. But I would advise you not to cancel your Maybankard 2 Cards because the AMEX is better than MBB VI for local use.

Thanks for the head up. I googled up CardPac and the system had existed since 1982.

I went to Stanchart KL Main just now to clear my credit card outstanding via cash deposit machine. I was shocked to hear they will only take my payment into account on Monday as today and tomorrow are not working days. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

When I pay my cimb or maybank credit cards via their cash deposit machines, they are effected immediately! I repeat IMMEDIATELY.

Standard Chartered Here For Good? Of course has to be here for good since it takes AGES to get a bloody transaction done!

SUCH A JOKE, STANDARD CHARTERED!

Hey guys,

I was just looking through credit cards recently because a family member was requesting for one just for a purchase (via 0% instalments). I've considered the request but I could've missed important details, so I'd like to seek for your opinions.

Apart from that one purchase via instalments, I thought about using a credit card for expenses such as bills, groceries, and air tickets (perhaps emergencies too). From my calculations, I spend only about RM400-600 (domestic flights, groceries and bills) a month - I have these covered with the combination of a debit card and online banking. As for emergencies, I have an emergency fund set up.

With most cash-back credit cards capped at RM50 per month, does it make financial sense to get a credit card just for RM30 cash back (for expenses etc) per month, a one-time purchase, potential emergencies and possibly negligible air miles?

Thanks in advance.

Just checked on Stanchart's online banking, payment already reflected. It seems Stanchart's Infinite Customer Service Officers don't really know what are they talking about then.

I just published My Credit Cards 100th Post - The Best Credit Cards in 2011 The contents have no new substance except me blah blah blah. I even wasted time designing the Ultimate Credit Card for the year of the dragon smile.gif

I would like to thank you guys for using up your time to read my articles at my credit cards blog and pointing out the numerous errors and typos too. Even though I may not reply your post, I do appreciate when you guys post here to mention that you found my articles interesting or informative or enjoy reading them. Come to think of it, a reader did comment my posting as a "service", which is in a way true because I started the blog 2 years ago because people keep asking the same questions here and with my articles I hope to provide the relevant answers they are looking for (but somehow always sidetrack, haha). Once again, thank you.

Stanchart should be same day. Even for my housing loan, I banked in a cheque (not cash) on Sat evening (not yet clear and need 2 days float), it gets reflected on my monthly statement as Sat banked in.

I don't think this type of 3 dragon will be having so soon since it involve VISA, MASTER AND AMEX... may be in the near future of 10 years? or it will not going to happen...haha, it is not so easy to merged these 3 company together or cooperate with each other and split out the profits

@Gen-X,

Found one online calculator by AKPK. Quite useful I think.
http://www.akpk.org.my/tools/calculators?calc=content_3
The normal balance outstanding, interest rate (which one can enter).
Then if Min pay, it takes how long and how much interest incurred.
Else if fix monthly repayment, how long as well as interest incurred.
And one can do it side by side which is good for comparison. smile.gif
