Hi all, I want to help my friend who's looking for a place in Tiong Bahru/Redhill/Queenstown or a place near the green line. She's going to work in Redhill. Her budget is $500 with PUB. If anyone has friends looking for housemates or know anyone looking for tenants, can you tell me about it? Appreciate it very much, thank you smile.gif

boon lay is a good choice....i recently move there also sgd 450 with pub and unlimited choice of makan as jurong point is nearby...my block near safra somemore....can go karaoke and watch movie all in one place....redhill wanna get sgd 500 hard to find. i think redhill quite *atas* as near city and uni.

Hi,

Am very new to this forum. Pardon me if this is not the place to post this question. I am currently looking for a room to rent near boon lay mrt. Budget sgd500 including aircon and internet. Is this the market price for a single person at boon lay area?

Thank you.

Regards,
Fiona

it depends on where in boon lay....i was lucky to find a room near the old bus interchange overlooking at safra with pub at sgd 450 with internet...high floor somemore...direct owner posting...some of the old boon lay area can even go as low as sgd 350. u can try flatsdb.com to search...some of them are direct owner posting. i found mine here, hope it helps

Hmmm, definitely won't be often, but I'm just trying to avoid a situation where the landlord is pushing you around despite paying rent and all.
So generally speaking, singaporean landlords are arses? Man.

Yeah that does put things into perspective. I guess the best way to avoid the whole complication is to get an entire unit to yourself, eh?

not all singaporen landlords are arses...my landlord ok ba, no restriction or any crazy rules. if u can afford to rent the whole flat..definitely better cause u can cook, walk around the house naked. or bring frens over for dinner . as some of the bros here say we have to put ourself in their shoes, if i am landlord i definitely do not want any tom d*** and harry to treat my house as their own.

I been applying for job that allow me to apply for S-pass for few months, so far still fail. I think I have to lower my expected my salary to WP now. is SGD1800 is enough for me save 30% of my salary.

my estimation:
Rental:700
Food:300
Transportation:200
no entertainment
still at bordeline to save 30% of salary. I can apply for similiar job in Malaysia to save on my rental , but my job scope require me to travel using my own transport, when my car had been stolen. really headache now. >_>
*
wow...700 for rental is brutal man..nowadays i see only sgd 650. transport can save if u stay nearer to workplace or got bus got from ur place.
