Do you all every year receive bonus or not? Do you all need to sign contract to the the bonus or not?

Bonus, as it's name implies, is a "bonus." There is no such thing as a mandatory bonus. (cos then it's not a bonus ... )

Contractual bonuses are guaranteed - these should be written in your contract. Performance bonuses are not guaranteed and will not be in your contract.

Guys > SG to JB, I remember last time somewhere around Bugis my friend take me sit taxi $7. Still valid? Planning to go to JB tonight after work to pick up gf's car to household shopping over the weekend.

The decision didn’t come easy. Not just with a stroke of pen, No! It was after careful thought and consideration, weighing pros and cons, many sleepless nights thinking of reasons to justify our moves. In the process, we did give up a lot of things. And it doesn’t end there. Likewise the challenges. Dont be misled that is all bed of roses here.

S$7 bucks per head, should be. Not S$7 for the whole car.

I used to take Sg's comfortdelgro taxis from JB Kotaraya II bus/taxi stand back to Bishan, and it always cost S$25-30. No metered, fully negotiated.

Oh~ But, the IRAS website shows "stay or work"... Cause if the 183 days mean for working day, then i will need to pay a high amount of tax as a NR. Sigh~
*
dont worry

i know a person that came to work in sg less than 183 days (came end July) last yr plus he travelled overseas most of the time he got the resident tax rate... which is much lower

he too was worried about the same thing but turned out fine

183 days includes weekends, public holidays, etc.

Travelling overseas for work purpose is still considered working. Hence you count the days (including the overseas travelling) and its more than 183 days, you still get taxed as resident.

For those staying in Johor Bahru it's really a no brainer doesn't take anything more than 1 hour to decide.

It's not an easy decision despite we earn 2.4 times more.

You need to give-up alot of things.

Some maybe broke-up with her gf bcos he leave for SG
Some maybe need to forgone the opportunity costs of his car in Msia while working in SG
Some maybe cannot enjoy our lovely nasi lemak + teh tarik while in Msia
Some maybe lost alot of friends and start all over again in SG
Some maybe feel homesick
Some maybe need to stay away with his/her parents and his/her lovely pet dog.

On the other hand, you will be compensated with a 2.4 times more salaries than your friends working in Malaysia.

While you back in Malaysia, for instance (I just quoting an example) you will be eating a loaf of bread bought from Delifrance while your friend could just be eating a loaf of bread bought from Gardenia.

Or you can afford a brand new Samsung Galaxy S II while your friend is still using just a Vivaz (and it's 2nd hand oso).

So, can you afford to exchange those intangible factors mentioned above to a more monetary asset?

dont forget u need to fork out a big chunk of sg salary for high rental costs in sg... n u dont get half the comfort compared to ur cosy home back in KL

its the trade-off....

im saving all my money for hse in future but it seems so far away.... need 20% deposit & prices all above $500k for somewhere dam far away

working in sg sometimes feel like the poor days of student where u rent a room with minimal stuffs n away from home... then u spend wisely n cant afford any luxuries; no car, no fancy restaurants

its not really an upgrade sometimes, earn 2.4 more but if u want the same lifestyle in KL u will go broke...

Sorry, missed out on my original post but yeah I meant $7 per head. Now $10 already huh ... not worth it lah like that, I'll just take the #170 from Queens.

It's not like you're stucked in a small island. It's not so far away even from Penang compared to folks working in USA/Europe/Australia.

For JB folks i can't imagine how they would even feel homesick.

Normally people decide to go to SG bring their girlfriend along to make x2.4

Deciding to and managing to are 2 different things.
Yes, both might eventually get here, but how long apart will be another matter.

No Gf in KL, so not a problem, trying to fish JB mm
Some maybe need to forgone the opportunity costs of his car in Msia while working in SG
Used to, but i moved to JB, can enjoy my car and also drive it into SG when needed
Some maybe cannot enjoy our lovely nasi lemak + teh tarik while in Msia
Stay in JB, their Malay food is superb, even better than those in KL. but chinese food just slightly better than SG
Some maybe lost alot of friends and start all over again in SG
Nope, i still keep in touch with them, go back KL once a month since got car. its just 3 hours away.
Some maybe feel homesick
Not really, nothing much to be sick about, can go back if u feel sien
Some maybe need to stay away with his/her parents and his/her lovely pet dog.
Dun see my mom is better than see, see her only she will start nag nag nag nag, dam sien.

Basically all those can be compensated if u stay in JB and work in SG. just need to sacrifice on your travel time. smile.gif
