I have a brief test on T61 at Singapore, the view angle of the LCD is kinda sux, max brightness also kinda low.
The LCD frame is thicker on the left and top portion, which looks urgly to me.
The thickness of T61 is more than previous T60 though.

Overall, T61 is not really worth.

Austin bro, u mean T61 not worth the bucks? Thicker then T60? How bout the weight? My T60 with batt 2.5KG le sweat.gif

Got see the X61? I see it got antenna like radio.. X61 not silly wide screen right?

Overall which 1 is better T60 or T61? Spec wise i see T61 really interesting drool.gif

Edit: If no negative feedback bout X61 (hate the antenna).. this gonna be my baby soon smile.gif

weight should be about the same. X61 cannot see anywhere, not wide screen.

Performance wise you won't feel the difference between Santa Rosa and good old NAPA refresh. Practically better add more RAMs and get 7200rpm HDD for your current T60. It is gonna be a collectible machine next time since it is the last laptop with carrying IBM Logo/badge.

No, it doesn't matter. If you really like the IBM logo, you can still purchase them as a spare part and replace it to your heart's content on ebay (link posted previously doesn't work so just search "IBM Thinkpad logo").

But seriously, why bother branding it IBM when it's no longer an IBM Thinkpad, rather a Lenovo Thinkpad? The IBM logo previously made it inconsistent because there's Lenovo on the LCD frame and on the base of the notebook as well as on the desktop. If anything, they should have just stuck "Lenovo" there for branding development (Lenovo needs to seriously work on its brand). It's like sticking a Dell logo on an HP.

On a side note, I really can't stand the off-centred T61 screen and the battery which sticks out the back of this notebook. Horrible, thoughtless design. Wonder what the designers were thinking. My guess is it'll still sell due to the "Thinkpad" brand name and Lenovo's corporate contracts inherited from IBM.

1st of all your page didn work.. user posted image
The eBay page or feature you are attempting to access is not responding.
Poke it.. Ebay!! doh.gif

2nd haha branding is not important for me, as i say "original" T60 and X60 will be the last batch to have IBM logo on it (no need modified or whatsover) so it can be very very collectable smile.gif

Lastly other then this i have no comment.. late liao lazy to read on.. sweat.gif

hei I have a TP Z60m and currently using two 512mb DDR2-533 ram module. May I know can I use 1gb DDR2-667 on it? I know my laptop can support up til DDR2-533 but can the BIOS automatically change the frequency of DDR2-667 to DDR2-533? The reason I am choosing DDR2-667 is it is cheaper (a lot) than DDR2-533

@vito, yes the ram will run backwards to ddr2 533, however it's advisable to get the ram which has the same frequency

u can try ddr2 667 1st, if unstable then only change to ddr2 533, majority shops at lowyat allow u to top up or change things within 1 week, provided u return full set and receipt brows.gif
