I nvr face those problem b4, my bios is 2.17, i'm using R60 w gma950

i oso skip the system update, i feel more confident on manual update via website

u can use cpuz to check, page 2 of the program
http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-140.zip

anyhow try to use new player eg klite codec pack, real alternatives & quicktime player
source: www.free-codecs.com

-Ya, If you free better go to Lenovo webby ( http://www.lenovo.com/my/en/ ) and check whats new if u know what u really need to update.. If you dont just use ThinkVantage System Update. System update latest bios is 2.14 while WTM0325 get 2.17 on webby.

-Erm.. need program to check bios also de ah hehe!
If go to Bios setup is hard then just click
(Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Imformation (Bios version/Date)) Then u can see your bios and some basic info bout your ThinkPad liao smile.gif

-And try download more codec and player make your company pcie full of junkie before u return it back to them hehe! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(spayre @ Jun 14 2007, 06:42 PM)
hi there,

i got one question. i have an age old ibm thinkpad r30 (pentium III 1.0 Ghz with 256 mb RAM (128x2 unit = i checked it using BelArc Prog) and I would like to upgrade the RAM to at least 512 mb or 1Gb RAM. Which Kingston RAM Model i should look for as I understand that pentium III motherboard cannot support more than 256 Mb RAM in a single stick and it has to be 16 chips?

Please advise.. thank you...

myliew i think you are facing the problem of sreen shutting off because Thinkpad do not recognise any activity during film show, somemore on battery so it proceeds to battery save mode.

BTW anyone having temperature problems with their Thinkpads?
mine can rise up to 90 degrees plus on full load, which is not very healthy and making me worry.
