I'm not sure is this the official analogue switch off, or just their usual daily off air time, as I'm confused on TV2 Facebook post of the ASO postponement to 20 Aug for Central and Southern Region.

19 August 2019:

12.30am:
Ulu Kali: TV3 shows test card with test tone. Went off air 2-3 minutes later.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3 shows colour bar with test tone. Goes off air few minutes after Ulu Kali went off air.

1am:
Bukit Sungai Besi: all eems has switched off all analogue stations (TV1, TV2, TV3, 8TV, TV9) except NTV7, which is still showing test card with test tone.

1.08am:
Ulu Kali: 8TV has gone off air. NTV7 showing the usual NTV7 test card with test tone, while TV9 showing colour bars with test tone. TV1 and TV2 still on air.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9 has gone off air. TV1 and TV2 still on air.

In conclusion for now, only TV1 and TV2 is on air on analogue. Media Prima ones has off air (not sure if it's ASO).

On digital TV, all FTA stations are still showing programmes as usual, as opposed to analogue TV.

Well, its just my findings for now... I'm curious to see how our Malaysian analogue broadcast being switched off... I'm not sure if this is really ASO or just daily midnight off air. Now my "excitement" to see how it switches off, are kinda died off...
I'll just tune to analogue TV later morning and see how lo...

The analog broadcast still airing, means after midnight it will be actual ASO.

Yes. I've checked this morning. All analogue broadcasts is on air as usual. Earlier night's off air is just the usual daily off air occurs during midnight. Oh well.... 🤷🏼‍♂

I've observed the analogue off air earlier, and I'll try to observe the ASO later midnight (hope this is really happening). I hope there will be no more postponement on ASO, be it for central and southern region or nationwide.
If the broadcasters find that they've tried their best to inform viewers that analogue broadcast is switching off, either through news or TV squeeze back message on TV3 (although I personally think is not that enough, as compared to Singapore's), then they should just go ahead and make the historic move to switch it off already. Seriously, Malaysia has been postponed ASO too many times in the past.

Anyone here, if you're interested, do observe and watch analogue broadcast again for the final time tonight and look how the analogue TV broadcasts being switch off. Once it's off, it'll gone forever.

I plan to do that actually, although I only have 1 TV set. Unlike some YouTube videos I see on other countries ASO, they show you multiple small TV sets in the same video frame to show you how ASO being carried out across different channels.

But my analogue TV reception is kinda poor and has analogue ghosting (double image, shadows). Anyhow, I'll try to record and upload whenever I can. No guarantee, but I'll try.

Anyone here reading these posts on this forum topic, if you can, do record and upload the ASO moment on all channels whenever possible, especially if you're from different states. It's only "one take". Once you missed it, then bye bye.

My TV model is SONY KDL-46EX65A (May 2012), I checked online and do not find anything related to IDTV or DDTV.  sad.gif

I just checked with my building management, and got confirmation they are upgrading from analogue to digital tv reception in few days time.. Now just the matter if I need to get a separate decorder to watch them.

I found this https://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1021905743.pdf

Granted the manual is for the French version, but it does say DVB-T2 support (page 2). Just test by connecting your TV directly to the wall outlet, and see if you're able to tune in to myFreeview? Got nothing to lose by simply testing anyway, right? smile.gif

Wow, I wonder if the older version( Same model ( K8), just without the DTTV logo) is also MCMC certified

Btw it has PVR too, you'll need to provide your own pendrive

So apparently when I contacted Botato to ask about the MCMC certification for existing decoder, they said that existing decoder is not certified( same model: K8, without the DTTV logo), probably they changed something under the hood?

It is not just you. Many in JB area are unable to get any Malaysian DTT despite they should be well served by Malaysia DTT. The reason this happened is the signals for Malaysian DTT is very heavily interfered by Indonesian analogue TV, hence the inability/it is harder to get a signal on Malaysian DTT unless analogue SCTV and Indosiar on Batam left these frequencies or a retune exercise on MYTV.

So fast within few seconds it scan all? Or any part i did wrong?

I stay at Setapak condo, by right quite near to station. I try indoor cheap antenna and master antenna.. both also nothing...

KL area, manual search 666MHz and 698MHz. If you manual search the exact frequency, you'll get the channels in seconds. Almost no need to wait long.

Your indoor antenna, is it require any external power source, like is it the one that need electricity to power it up? If yes, make sure the Antenna Power setting is set to On. If not, make sure it's set to Off.

Have you tried relocate and realign your indoor antenna? Can take pic of your antenna, and possibily your balcony view to see if there's any obstructions. As for master antenna, if u can't get any digital TV channels, you got to contact your building management to see if the centralise antenna supports digital TV. Cuz if not, they got to upgrade it. If they don't wanna upgrade, you got use own antenna then.

Thanks for reply.

Yes, channel 45 is 666MHz, i did try 47 & 49 with the 'ANS Power' on or off, still no luck. It search too fast, until i not sure it really search or not?

But strange thing is the shop on my ground floor using indoor antenna with power booster able to receive it clearly!

I'm higher but different block, suppose able to get as well.

Maybe is my cheapo antenna. I try upload tomorrow.

The TV3's TV squeeze-back analog shutdown message now, are no longer showing today's cessation date?:

As you can see, the yellow text of "19 OGOS 2019" is no longer there.

Translation:
"Analogue TV broadcast will end for central and southern region of Peninsular Malaysia"
"Please migrate to myFreeview digital broadcast"
