Anyone from Central and Southern regions can record the analogue channels switch off moment?

I was wondering on how the process of analogue channels switch off.

It affects to those who is still watching analogue TV broadcasts. Once analogue switches off, you can no longer watch TV1 until TV9 channels using your TV antenna, unless you switch to digital TV broadcast, either by your IDTV or connect a DVB-T2 digital TV box to your TV set.

Pay TV viewers like Astro, Njoi, Unifi TV, are not affected, and able to view the channels as per usual.

On the bright side, they wanna make digital TV something special that pay TV users can't enjoy, which is not in HD quality...

This could somehow encourage people to watch terrestrial channels via digital TV. And same goes to the RTM HD Sports and Saluran Berita RTM, which is available only on digital TV and RTM online streaming.

but if I'm not mistaken, astro needed to pay more to MyTV if want HD feed right? or the other way round?

Drats!! Telekom Malaysia HyppTV/UnifiTV is going to stop airing RTL CBS Entertainment or Blue Ant Entertainment channel.

That is a very good channel, why are they going to stop it?

They did the same thing to other good channels like the Sony Channel and Syfy Channel, which are all my very favourite channels including Blue Ant Entertainment.

Even sports channels like HyppSports 1,2,3,4,5,6 have all been taken away from us.

I hope TM HyppTV/UnifiTV, ABANDON ALL PLANS to cancel Blue Ant Entertainment channel and bring back The Sony Channel and Syfy channel as well as all the Hyppsports channels as many people I know who have HyppTV and UnifiTV IPTV (me included) are complaining.

Furthermore the playback or Interactive TV function for the EPG can only select and view or binge and watch shows from the past 1 week.
Sometime back you could select and view shows from the schedule from the past 2 weeks. TM, please make it capable to select and play from the past 2 weeks.

Even the damn Teletext mode or Interactive TV additional functions are not working, local and global news, sports, business, entertaintment news as well as horoscope, weather, flight information etc is not updated. Please update all of it, please.

Yep , you maybe correct but why MYTV decoder have some weird features like card and etc ? totally like astr0.

I suspect they will not block after understanding but may have Pay to watch channel.
Those who using build in only able to watch the current channel but with extra channel need a card.

Who is going to use recorded PVR where there youtube and etc ? all movie and series at tonton and youtube.

Forget about them la. My mom eligible for the free decoder. Since Feb until now, didn't get. Call and complaint - "kami banyak customer. You tunggu saja la." Maju lah Malaysia...

So, should I believe TV2 or MYTV myFreeview now? Lol.

I'm not sure is this the official analogue switch off, or just their usual daily off air time, as I'm confused on TV2 Facebook post of the ASO postponement to 20 Aug for Central and Southern Region.

19 August 2019:

12.30am:
Ulu Kali: TV3 shows test card with test tone. Went off air 2-3 minutes later.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3 shows colour bar with test tone. Goes off air few minutes after Ulu Kali went off air.

1am:
Bukit Sungai Besi: all eems has switched off all analogue stations (TV1, TV2, TV3, 8TV, TV9) except NTV7, which is still showing test card with test tone.

1.08am:
Ulu Kali: 8TV has gone off air. NTV7 showing the usual NTV7 test card with test tone, while TV9 showing colour bars with test tone. TV1 and TV2 still on air.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9 has gone off air. TV1 and TV2 still on air.

In conclusion for now, only TV1 and TV2 is on air on analogue. Media Prima ones has off air (not sure if it's ASO).

On digital TV, all FTA stations are still showing programmes as usual, as opposed to analogue TV.

Well, its just my findings for now... I'm curious to see how our Malaysian analogue broadcast being switched off... I'm not sure if this is really ASO or just daily midnight off air. Now my "excitement" to see how it switches off, are kinda died off...
I'll just tune to analogue TV later morning and see how lo...

1. It's SPT & Syfy decision, affecting whole region, not just in here.
2. They have to drop some sports channel since ASN has ceased whole region, and also loosing the football rights to iflix.

Also this is not related to Digital TV.

tv3 always go off around after the english new. happen when i haven't got my digital decoder yet. always catch Saturday English movie and got cut-off midway. meanwhile tv9 always shutdown at 12 mid-nite.

Hmm... This topic not related to digital TV... But nvm.
If TM decided to cease Blue Ant Entertainment and Blue Ant Extreme, they must have some reasons to do so. It could be viewership related, or business agreements that both TM and Blue Ant could not deal with.
No matter how much you hate it, you got to accept it when the time comes where the channel really ceases. No matter how much you complain to them, they're not gonna bother you or just give you the typical reply of "Thank you for the feedback, we'll inform this to the relevant department...".
Trust me, I've experienced something like this before. You're gonna make yourself feel depressed for dwelling on something that you can't control.

Both Sony Channel and Syfy Channel itself, is being ceased, not Unifi TV cease the channel.
Meaning, Sony Channel and Syfy Channel is no longer exist even in other countries pay TV providers, because the channel provider has stopped and ceased the channel long ago.
If the channel itself becomes no longer exist, how could Unifi TV provide that channel?

I have no much comment on those interactive features on Unifi TV. Cuz those features are known to be not commonly and widely used by Unifi TV viewers.
So don't be too surprised if the feature appears to be not so up to date, or problematic, or not working properly.
TM are dying hard to save costs now. I don't think they have that much attention to focus those minor things that majority of customers rarely or didn't even use it, or don't even know it exists.

I don't think so, millions of people if not billions of people watch those channels because I know many people who watch them and don't tell me iflix bought all those exclusive rights to all Hyppsports channels?

Maybe 1 or 2 programs can say-lah they bought the rights, but hundreds of them?

And show me proof that those channels have cease operations?

If TM IPTV can't provide complete Teletext or Interactive TV service, then it is sad because a lot of people I know use and view it.

Remember Beriteks or Malaysian Teletext back in the 80s and 90s? It was damn good, complete, always updated daily and had tonnes of content from travel information (train, bus and airplane), trivia, jokes and riddles, edutaintment, global and local news, sports, entertaintment, buissness, stock market results and info, games, important government agency and department contact numbers, story of the day, TV and Radio program schedule, tourist attractions etc in English. Best of all it was free. I think TM should fire all their current teletext, HyppTV/UnifiTV Interactive content staff and rehire those people or staff who did Beriteks from both RTM and Media Prima way back in the 80s and 90s to update HyppTV/UnifiTV Interactive content.

Lot of building not ready yet. I call my condo management, status is still waiting for quotation...

I try myfreeview decoder, with normal old type rabbit antenna (without power booster type) no signal at all.

I go electrical shop and ask, they also dare not guarantee their UHF antenna can get good signal, and not cheap either!
