Gunung Ledang DTT transmitter is down - folks in Melaka may have to realign their antennas to point towards Bukit Tampin (if they were aligned towards Ledang before), while some folks in North Johore may find their screens blank - they can try realigning but may find the signal strength is lower as they are receiving from farther away.

Bukit Larut transmitter is also now on - folks in Northern Perak may now tune to MyTV over 666MHz (Channel 45)

Looks like 8TV now air 16:9 programs in 4:3 letterbox now, no more native 16:9.
And the video quality is horrible.

You can just ignore Media Prima's channels. They are still testing different bitrate every week. Sometimes they use the lowest bitrate and treat viewers like fools.

Damn, I just read at mytv facebook about Sibu having its transmitter activated at this year end or early next year.

Seriously? 6 months just to install one transmitter at Sibu from official launch date?

This mean = Miri City = June 2018 doh.gif

I need some education on digital TV.

If my area terrace house must use a outdoor ceiling-top antenna, now to receive digital TV signal, I still need that antenna ?

Reason is that my house the outdoor antenna has since broken, and called up and installers are telling me it needs a few hundred to fix it. Could I receive the digital broadcast using small indoor antenna ?

Or it is going to be case to case ( area to area ) ?

Puchong is quite a distance from the nearest transmitter. Furthermore, you stay in landed house. Most likely you need an outdoor antenna. You may try a buy a cheap indoor antenna from hypermarket or hardware store to test it out first, but I doubt it would work in your house.

If your outdoof antenna is UHF type, and just fallen down (but everything else intact) then just try first before buying new one. Get someone to put it back up and point towards the direction of the nearest station in relation to your house. I presume it's the Sungei Besi station for Puchong area.

If don't know the direction , use google or ask around your neighbours, see if anyone already installed and follow their direction.

However if your house and the station too far off or there are tall buildings or structures blocking the signal then too bad.

Don't forget your TV need Dvb-t2 built in or an external decoder box and also need to scan the UHF frequencies for the signal.

Thanks, confirm it is back. My area unable get bukit Tampin signal when Ledang is down. Ledang can get 70% signal quality and Bukit Tampin only 3-4% signal.
I am using indoor antenna, moving around still no luck when Ledang is down.

I bought a cheap antenna from Mr.DIY. It is working fine for my friend at Bukit Jalil. The down side is the antenna need near by front door.
